There was also that. This review is based on my initial impressions because I have yet to install it. When my Jeep project is up and running, I'll update this. br>br>It has a "rust-inhibitive finish that protects critical areas without affecting function," according to the manufacturer. I'm curious as to what kind of paint they used, because it's not POR15. The paint was still sticky when I opened the box, and the packaging paper had adhered to it. When I tried to remove it with a wire brush, I discovered a lot of rust underneath the paint. You'd think a remanufactured part would be media blasted at the very least, and if it was, it did a terrible job. On the mounting surface, there was also a lot of buildup and paint slag that needed to be scraped off. I rarely write reviews and have never written a negative one, but I felt compelled to say something because I would be embarrassed to sell a product that looked like that.
For a loss, a lot of work was put in. I'd go to Summit or Advance Auto Parts and buy one for full price.
Has flare fittings, so it won't fit anything from 1980 or later. That does not sit well with me. It said it fit my 1986 CJ7, but I had to return it because it didn't. There was no black sticky substance on the box. It had some undercoating that was easy to peel off, but it didn't get all over my hands or tools.
Gearbox is fantastic.
It turned out that the issue wasn't the problem, but the trans action itself was excellent.
For the hose ends, there are rings. It's also been given a fresh coat of black paint. It's a direct fit for my 1981 Jeep CJ7's pump.
