As this alternator upgrade kit was cheaper than what is offered by other late model pony sites, and as it was easier and less expensive than buying all the wiring, connectors, and fuses separately, I used it to upgrade my Foxbody Mustang's wiring. As a whole, this kit worked for my upgrade, but take note that there are some things to consider when using it with Foxbody vehicles. Instructions included with the kit do not address the Foxbody, so you'll have to follow the instructions provided across the interwebs on how to wire them. These connectors to the alternator are preconnected, and they give you "a lot" of extra wire for these connectors that you don't There is no need to reconnect the stator connector. It is already connected properly. This unit is equipped with a You will need to run another 2 feet of wire to reach your battery (or solenoid). I used a cheap battery cable and cut it down to size but overall it was a very clean install. Other than the 6 gauge wire being a little short, I would recommend it.
If you follow the instructions for upgrading from Ford 1G to 3G alternators, this should be easy to install.
The kit contains everything you need and is very well made. Using this kit on my 1987 Mercury Colony Park was a great experience. It was only the red charging cable that was the problem. The cable was too short to run to the place I wanted it to go. The kit is not designed for usage with the wagon, so the cable is not long enough to run to This isn't a big deal, I used it anyway because I really wanted to get this working right away. It was totally worth it, the installation instructions in the PDF on the manufacturer's website helped a lot.
The harness I use most on my 3G phone. I have used in many different cars, and they have always been of good quality and perform as expected.
An upgrade that's good for a 1994 F250 with a 460 horsepower engine.
I'm very happy with this product. It was simple to use and I was able to upgrade my alternator without any problems.
I was very pleased with how quickly it came. It took my son only a few minutes to install and worked perfectly.
This is essential if you want to install a 3G. I'm extremely happy. This fixed my 3G alternator charging issue and I'm glad I spent the money. It would be better to solder the connections rather than crimp them. I got rid of all the old wire harness for the original horrible alternator and the alternator worked very well. I am pleased with the outcome. It came with excellent instructions.
