How Our Score Is Calculated

Product Description

By entering your model number, you can make sure that this fits.
For cars, trucks, and SUVs, durability is superior; road salt, oil, and a variety of other common under-car contaminants, as well as the weight and torque forces that typically compress rubber, will eventually destroy the rubber bushings on your vehicles.
Hyper-Flex replacement polyurethane components are resistant to contaminants that can degrade rubber, and they're designed to last longer and not compress permanently.
Hyper-Flex is available in a variety of durometers (firmness or softness) depending on the product application; it's been performance tested and race proven, and it's used in all of Energy Suspension's products that demand a higher level of performance and durability.
If you're modifying, building a new vehicle from the ground up, or restoring an older vehicle, Energy Suspension's Hyper-Flex performance polyurethane should be at the forefront of your current and future vehicle plans.
Energy Suspension has established itself as a leading manufacturer of high-quality polyurethane products with over two decades of in-house experience in innovating, engineering, and formulating a wide range of polyurethane components for a variety of industries.

Questions & Answers

Is this for a single or double bump stop?

There are two bump stops in total. Best wishes to you.
R.

Is this part compatible with a 96 Camaro?

Any 82-year-old person, yes. Only a minor modification is required; simply cut off the tab on the edge where they bolt on and they will fit perfectly. I suppose spacers could be made, but they aren't really necessary when trimming is so simple. These bump stops are larger, more durable, and less expensive than stock ones.

How long is the distance between bolt holes?

Sorry for the inconvenience, but I sold the car on which these photos were taken two years ago.

Does it fit a 1999 Pontiac Firebird with these bump stops?

They fit my 2001 Camaro SS after a minor modification to the existing spacers.

Perfect for replacing the rear bump stop on a 2000 Trans Am
5/5

This was used to replace the rear bump stop on a 2000 Trans Am. You have two options for making this work: get a 1/2" x 1" x 6" long piece of aluminum and drill two holes as a spacer, or cut the rubber off your old bump top and use the remaining 1/2" base as a mounting platform. I chose aluminum as my material of choice. I had intended to use two spacers to keep the factory height of the bump stop, but I had also installed lowering springs and discovered that the extra 1/2" left only 1/2" of suspension travel. I believe the factory rubber had more give, so a 1/2" spacer rather than a 1" spacer might be preferable. In any case, this works great, and I've only had one bottoming out with the new suspension, and it was similar to a new car bottoming out, with a soft bump on that side of the suspension for a split second before everything went back to normal. This is a huge improvement over hitting the bottom and hearing a loud thud.

However, it was rigged for my Colorado and was not used as advertised
4/5

One rear suspension bumper was completely down to the metal portion of it and the other was falling apart on my 2006 Chevy Colorado; these weren't advertised as fitting, but the part that did was much more expensive or wouldn't arrive for another month. I used a chainsaw file to remove just enough material to allow the bolt to pass through. I couldn't get the other bolt in because the piece didn't extend far enough, so I used a larger washer that overlapped the bumper metal. These are also a little shorter, but I don't think that will be an issue.

With reworked bolt holes and trimmed plastic, it fits the 4th generation Camaro
4/5

Mounting this jounce bumper was complicated by the car's vertical flange. To fit the plastic, I had to enlarge the mounting holes on the outboard side by about 1/8" and taper the plastic with a wood rasp. It was about 1/4" shorter than the OEM bumper once installed. It'll take you about an hour to figure out and complete the rework.

This item does not fit the Jeep ZJ (93-1998)
3/5

Grand Cherokee (year 1998). The bump stop has a hole pattern that is far too large for the ZJ. I also stated that it is incompatible, despite the fact that it is supposed to be universal, and Amazon charged me $5 to return it (Bad Amazon). br>br>Does it bother anyone else that the only 5 star reviews come from people who have installed the bump stop on their Camaros and Trans Ams? Have these been installed on a jeep before? The mounting holes are 4 inches apart from center to center. If this helps anyone make the best ordering decision, it's 2 inches.

The rear suspension has a new sound and feel to it
5/5

Thanks to the reviews of others, I was able to properly replace these on a 2000 SS. I ended up spending $30 on a grinder from Walmart, but it ensured that the job was completed correctly. I painted the ground metal before reinstalling the stops, as suggested by others. With the right tools, it's a piece of cake, and there's no need to bang. The most difficult part was removing one wheel lock that had been torqued to over 150 ft/lbs, which took only 5 minutes. I'm not opposed to replacing these in the future if necessary. The older ones were in their late teens and early twenties.

Used on the back of a fourth-generation Camaro
4/5

I purchased this generic bump stop after reading that it can be modified to fit on the back of a 4th generation Camaro with minor modifications to the vehicle. br>br> Previously, the factory Z28 bump stops cost about $35 each. They had been out of production for a while, and when they were reintroduced, they were priced at $85. br>br>Since my car isn't built for racing and has around 120 pounds of stereo gear in the trunk, I figured I'd give these cheap generic polly bushings a shot. My car has also been lowered by two inches, which means it frequently hits the bump stops on rough roads. br>br> These stops bolted right on after hacking off a bit of an unnecessary lip on the inner fender well. So far, they seem to be working well, and while they are a little harsher than the originals, it's not too bad. br>br>However, I would still advise anyone involved in drag racing or road racing to invest in new factory stops. Polly bump stops have almost no place on a serious handling car because they are almost always too harsh of a hit, causing the chassis to sway and the tires to shock.

This is an excellent replacement for a part that General Motors no longer manufactures
5/5

With my 19-year-old sports car, I come across this quite frequently. The same mounting holes, size in all dimensions, and urethane for long-term durability are all included.

Most light trucks can be modified to fit
5/5

The best deal on a hard-to-find item. They're better than the originals, and despite Amazon's warning, they DO fit my 1988 GMC 1500.
