My original factory rear glass rods were replaced with this. I had to clean out the crud to find the clips that allow the rods to be removed, so it took me about 5 minutes to replace both of them. They lift gradually until about two-thirds of the way down the rod, then slowly the rest of the way. I used this product on my 2003 Suburban LT and it worked great.
Because they are sold separately, you will need to order two. If you've had your lift supports for a long time, you should always replace them in pairs. These were nearly half the price that Advance, PEP Boys, Auto Zone, and O'Reilly were asking for them.
Both were installed in less than a minute. The back window no longer hits me in the head with its glare.
My 2005 Tahoe had a direct replacement. The new ones have the same part number as the old ones. br>It only took 45 seconds for me to replace both.
These have been in place for two months and are performing admirably. I wish I had done so earlier. In less than a minute, they were up and running. To pry the clip out of the old struts, all you need is a small screwdriver.
The ball studs and brackets can be seen in the photograph. Ball studs and brackets are not included with the shocks when they are delivered. As a result, I exchanged them for the same shocks with the missing components. The new shocks arrived in two days, but the ball studs and brackets remained unaccounted for. So, if you only want the shocks, they're great, but the parts aren't included.
The process of replacing the old ones took less than 10 minutes. It's fantastic!.
I bought these to fit the back gate of my Hyundai Tucson, and I followed the instructions to the letter. It didn't even come close to fitting. They were close, but not quite the right size, and thus did not work. I was a little let down. They don't fit my 2005 Hyundai, which is a shame.
