These hood supports are advertised as Sachs brand, but they are labeled as Stabilus brand, so I'm not sure if they are from the same company. That being said, they are simple to set up (less than 10 minutes) and perform as expected. The hood wouldn't stay up, so they fitted it and fixed it. They're also made in the United States, which is an added bonus.
These lift supports are a great replacement for OEMs, as they are of high quality and fit perfectly. They're also very simple to set up. (It took me only two minutes to set up. ) )br>Once installed, I noticed that these are far more durable than the OEM lifts were when they were first installed. The lifts will open the hood without further assistance after I release the hood latch and raise the hood about an inch. When they were new, the OEMs required that I lift the hood 6 to 8 inches. br>Here are some more advantages: br>1) the cheapest option at the time of purchasebr>2) lifetime warrantybr>3) made in the United States (mine were made in North Carolina)br>Overall, these are a great value considering the above.
I'm extremely pleased with myself. The instructions for uninstalling and installing the device were simple to follow. I had it in my head that I only had one left-side support from another vehicle, but when I opened the hood, I discovered TWO. I went ahead and added it, and it worked fine.
In comparison to the weathertech brand they replaced (for a truck tool box), five sets of these were purchased. Except for the name (the length and weight they can support), they appear to be identical. I'll buy these again in the future because they're such a good product.
My 2005 Ram 2500's hood had gotten to the point where it wouldn't stay up by itself. It's impossible to imagine a more straightforward way to make a change. Perfect fit, easy to install in 2 minutes, and it works perfectly. I can't complain about the price.
These were purchased to replace the ones that came with my Dodge Ram 2500 truck. They were a perfect fit and have performed admirably since then. It was very simple to put them together. I'm extremely happy.
I lubricated the ball joint with grease and snapped it into place. It's incredibly simple to put together and provides factory-style hood support.
These aftermarket replacement supports have a similar appearance to OEM parts and perform similarly.
