I got the product yesterday, and the instructions clearly stated (and I quote) "is a 5mm allen wrench to hold the bolt with one hand while turning the nut clockwide nine (9) complete 360 degree turns. " CAUTION: SEE (FIG 2) CAUTION: SEE (FIG 2) CAUTION: S DAMAGE TO THE THREAD INSERT OR TAILGATE MAY OCCUR IF YOU TURN MORE THAN NINE (9) COMPLETE ROTATIONS. " UNQUOTE Okay, since they put that last part in caps, I thought to myself, "man, I need to follow this to the letter. " So I take a red marker and mark one side of the nut, then turn it exactly 9 turns. I back out the allen bolt, and the part that should have screwed in won't, and the hole is now too big! "We have tested that here, you should have only done about 5 or 6 turns!" they say when I call tech support this morning. " When I explained the instructions to him, he basically said, "Well, they're wrong!" " All right, fine. Now I have a broken part on my truck that I will most likely have to drill out, and the piece inside the tailgate will be forever bouncing around in there because there is no way to get it out without tearing the tailgate apart! The tech support representative was extremely pleasant, and he is sending me another package of hardware. but. if you decide to purchase this Please be aware that this is a potentially dangerous situation. Apparently, no instructions are to be followed at all! And women constantly chastise us for failing to follow directions. Perhaps this is one of those times when I'm glad I didn't! LOL It's possible that this is the best product available. However, the instructions must be revised!.
150, and first and foremost, I noticed that the product's quality was surprisingly high. From the tools to the bolts and washers, it had everything you needed. It includes everything you'll need to put it together (except a heat gun for the shrink wrap). ) and it includes color illustrations and clear instructions. I wasn't sure how strong it would be with only one on one end, but it's incredibly strong and effortlessly holds back that tailgate while gently lowering it without making a sound. This product has far exceeded my expectations, and I am very pleased with it. There are no disadvantages in any way.
