Questions & Answers

What is the maximum number of leaves that this part can hold?

4 leafs

Is it possible to use this clamp on four leaf springs?

The thickness of your leaves will determine how long they will last. The "U" part of the clamp is 2 1/4" from the inside bend to the end, according to my measurements. I'm not sure how much "folding over" is required for these to stay together. I wasn't able to put them to good use. After reading on a Jeep forum about a problem where the aired down tire rubbed up against the outside of the clamp, unfolded it, and cut the tire, I decided to make special plates for the front. I'm going to use these on the back, but I'm going to weld the folded over piece so it doesn't come apart if it rubs against something.

In a single order, how many clips are there?

Each package contains two clips.

Heavy-duty construction
5/5

Heavy-duty construction. The metal is significantly thicker than that of the Pro Comp brand, and it is very simple to install. There were instructions included. They suggest rolling the ears over and making a loop, but I'm not sure how to do that. I used a C clamp and a pair of large groove joint pliers. I bent the ears enough and pounded it flush with a hammer.

Good product, but not for beginners; rubber pads would be nice
4/5

The weight (thickness) and temper (malleability/stiffness) of the product are both satisfactory. Completing the required stress relieved bend isn't difficult, but it's also not simple or suitable for beginners. It would be nice if the product came with some rubber pads to prevent fretting (rubbing) corrosion, but they can be formed in place and cured before installation using silicone RTV. I put eight of them in, four on each of two Chrysler Corporation vehicles. Minivans that have all-wheel drive. The springs on both vehicles were three-leaf springs. The OEM clips were rusted through and needed to be replaced.

It perfectly fits a 2" wide leaf spring
5/5

They were the perfect fit for my 1964 Chevy ll mono leaf springs, which were 2 inches wide. They can be bent with a hammer or channel locks because they are soft. In the package are some basic instructions. They're not as heavy-duty as the clips that come with new cars, but they get the job done. It's more difficult to replace them if you take them off after you've worn them.

I find it ideal
5/5

This clamp kit worked perfectly after I added a leaf to my Jeep XJ spring pack. The metal is nice and thick. On these, I reused the rubber pads from my stock clamps, and they worked perfectly. Someone said in another review that they wished the clamps included a rubber part.

If you get a flat, it can ruin your tire; I've used these on several different sets of springs, but I had my first flat with them this weekend
3/5

These were installed according to the instructions, with two of each leaf spring and about two inches between them. Running 30x9 with a 5 inch lift On my XJ, I have 5r15 tires. br>br>I quickly realized I had a flat tire, but I needed to get to a flat spot to change it, so I drove about 60 feet in reverse with the transfer case in low and just crept along. br>br>When I pulled the tire off the rim, I noticed the massive holes in the sidewall, which were 8-inches wide. Inside the side wall, there are ten large gashes. Under the razor-sharp edges of the clip, rubber had become entangled. br>br>If you use these, make sure the edges are smoothed out with a grinder or file, or your expensive tires will be destroyed in just one or two rotations. I'm not sure what Rancho was thinking when he put these together.

It is simple to set up
4/5

It is made of a thick, durable material. The required loop bend in the holding bracket is difficult to achieve. They perform admirably when properly installed.
