Questions & Answers

Are these sold in pairs, as Steeda's catalog suggests?

Hello Brett, Yes, they did come in a pair, which is what the (x2) stands for. I hope this information is useful to you.br>- A Long Story

Are there any splines or ribs on the X2 (not like the photo on Amazon)? P/N 555-A was purchased by a friend of mine. 8101 has splines instead of being smooth as shown. ?

Take a look at the photos of this ball joint on the Steeda website. www. steeda. com/steeda- com/steeda- com/steeda mustang- a ball joint - kit- 555- 8101/ Check with them to see if they can assist you in putting it all together. There is no need for a crush area, so please accept my apologies, but I'm still not sure what you're asking.

Is it possible to buy new boots? During installation, one of the X2 ball joint boots developed a small tear, allowing the grease to leak out. ?

They can be replaced; I've done so because both were torn when I bought them, and the two new ones were torn as well. I'm not sure if they were meant to be ripped apart.

Steedas x2

For those of us who lower our Mustangs, this is "the cat's meow. " I recently sold my 1996 Cobra 1. 5" with Eibach Pro-X shocks Kit Springs, as well as a Steeda bumpsteer kit and caster/camber plates from Maximum Motorsports. [The X2s are not delivered in the manner depicted. They include "splines" (e. g. , e. g. , e. g. , e. g. , on the side, crush sleeves)] The splines are the most recent X2 models available, according to customer feedback (see "questions") and Steeda (via a third party). I'm confident that the "smooth" model (as depicted in the diagram) is just as good as the splined model. Moreover, the X2 is nothing more than a model number. Steeda, for example, makes an X5 model that fits a later model Mustang (though not quite as old as mine). If you're going to drop below 1, these ball joints are a must. 5". Because it was so close to the 1, I decided to put them in. 5" limit because they didn't want to deal with bumpsteer issues later. br>br>Have fun with it!.

The best outcomes have ever been achieved

It's amazing what a good set of Ball Joints can accomplish. My 2003 Ford Mustang GT now has a much better handling characteristic. It's a pain in the a** to replace ball joints, but it's well worth it.

With a 1/2-inch coil cut, the mustang can be lowered just right.
