Questions & Answers
Each bag's top and bottom bushings were included in the kit. Installing these in my RV was a breeze. Without the need to remove the springs. They came with instructions that were very straightforward and easy to follow.
The bags I purchased came with one steam for each hose that supplies air and one steam for each hose that is bent 90 degrees and can be directed to the front of the truck. br>For the record, when I twisted the bag to fit inside the coil, I zip tied it with three zips and cut one off at a time as I insurred the bag.
The 4100 will fit the front end, but you'll need to remove the shock so the axle can fully extend the spring.
Yes, it's the same product I used on my 1997 P30 RV. I had to return an Amazon order, so I went to the Firestone website to look up the correct application, then found it on Amazon and saved some money. The 6100 will not fit inside the coil springs that came with the car. I returned the 6100 order because the bags were too short and fat to fit.

I knew my RV's air bags needed to be replaced, but I was too lazy to do so. I took the plunge and purchased these. It was very simple to set up. I used tin snips and a Rambo knife to cut out the old ones in a spiral, then simply pulled them out. br>br>YouTube was extremely helpful. I used hose clamps and zip ties to compress them as much as possible. I used dish soap to lubricate them. They slid up through a gap in the control arm's bottom. Make sure you don't make the same mistake I did and put them in with the valve up. Fortunately, I realized what I'd done before it went too far! Tip: To install the lower plate, I used a bottle jack to press it up and a large screwdrive to hold it in place. The plates were the most difficult part, so make sure you put the upper one on before the last bit goes through. In my experience, it can be a little finicky. br>br>It probably takes a shade tree expert like me 30 minutes to an hour. Even with the mess up, I averaged 45 minutes per side. I'm glad I finally finished it (just in time to give it to my children)!.
I included installation instructions in my original Amazon review, but it was rejected for reasons I couldn't figure out, so I'm trying again with fewer (pretty much no) details other than photos. I'm stumped as to why Amazon disapproved of the original review. Hopefully, the annotated photographs will be of some assistance. I apologize for not being able to provide more information on how to install in order to reduce your effort; however, I hope the photos are helpful. Best wishes for a successful installation. Thank you for your time and effort; it was well worth it.
Using my sawzall and a long blade, I was able to remove existing air bags with ease. With the help of my heat gun, I was able to accomplish even more. br>To collapse the new airbag during installation, I used a cheap vacuum/brake gun. I used the heat gun to give me enough flexibility to move several pipe straps around the bag to make it into a cylindrical object small enough to compress and fit inside the underside of the a-frame. frame and coil spring on the inside Loosen the top pipe clamp and slide it partially down, then retighten once the end of the hew bag has been started through the frame. Use a heat gun and liquid dish soap to make insertion easier. br>At least two hours per side is recommended.
Yes, these were very easy to install once you got them soft enough. I put mine in hot water and put the straps on it right out of the hot water. We just gave them a little push and maneuvering around and they went in with hardly any problem.
On my 1995 motorhome, it was replaced. Using a razor knife and needle-nosed pliers, I was able to pry the old bag out. The Coil- I received a Valve Stem instead of the Push to Fit type shown in the Rite 4100 Bags I received. The 4100 was designed to be pushed into place. br>Can anyone explain why we were shown a picture of the Push to Fit style but were sent the Valve stem model?.
The only difficult part of installing these on my 87 Itasca motorhome is twisting them down enough to fit through the lower A-frame hole. frame. Don't give up after using a lot of soap and water. Also, double-check the threaded ends of the supplied blue air line; one of mine wouldn't start on the valve core of the new air spring. It's threaded by a woman, so it's female.
I routed my lines to a single air manifold to fill both bags up at the same time.
Since I've owned the RV, this has been the best thing I've done to improve the suspension. This resulted in a 10 improvement in handling and ride quality. I strongly advise anyone in need of replacement air bags in a P30 to try these. When you combine these with a steering stabilizer, you'll have a fantastic riding motorhome with no pucker factor.
