Is this also applicable to a M38 equipped with a devil engine?

Hello, I installed one in my M38a1 and it worked great! I had to trim the plate a little, but it worked great! It might work in M38 with a 24 V dist, but that's just a guess. Dan

Is it compatible with the M38A1 Hurricane 24V system?

Yes, as long as your system is set to 24 volts. My 1952 M38A1 has a 24v system with a Pertronix and runs great. It's been on my jeep for about 4 years and hasn't had any problems.

Is this a direct replacement for a m38a1 24 volt distributor?

Yes, just make sure you're using the correct coil according to the directions. Also, make sure your wires are secure; mine were damaged, resulting in a short circuit that harmed the Pertronix system.

This is what I put in my 24 volt military Jeep. I was fed up with cleaning, adjusting points, and timing. Simply reset the timing ONCE after installation, and it will continue to work flawlessly every day. If you're concerned about the electronics (which I am not), keep your old points plate in the vehicle and switch it back in about 10 minutes with a screwdriver.

On a M38A1, this is a true problem solver that works flawlessly! Quick starts, smooth idol, and excellent acceleration. Your original 24 volt system will appreciate it if you get one. Plus, you won't have to set or replace points ever again!.

Is there anyone who has installed this in a M38 distributor? MV- was also installed. 161 units in M37B1 yielded the same result; excellent product!!.

I no longer have to worry about points or condensor replacements. To get the plate to drop in place, you'll need to do some minor sanding or grinding on the two points of the plate; when you go to install it, it'll be self-explanatory. Pertronix is a fantastic company that creates excellent products.
