It's accurate when it works. But it only works for me 80% of the time. To calibrate it, hold the only button down until your speedometer reads 80 of the time. I'll set it and it'll work fine for a while, but then I'll turn the car off at the gas station and it won't start. When calibrating it, I occasionally go over the 80mph mark by accident because the needle continues to move after you let go of the button for a few seconds. It won't let me retry if I make a mistake, despite the fact that the instructions say I can. When I set it correctly, my speedo stays at zero while driving, and when I set it incorrectly, it displays the maximum speed. I haven't been able to troubleshoot it because there are so many different ways it can fail.
I didn't even read the directions, I just plugged it in and it displayed speed within a minute or less of starting up the car. I'm guessing it takes a little while to acquire the satellite signal, but I only noticed that right away. Maybe it's faster now or I'm just not analyzing it like I was when I first installed it and checked everything out. br>br>I'm looking forward to being able to change the rear tire size/rear axle ratio without having to program anything to compensate.
It performs admirably. I had made a custom trans swap and no longer had room for a speed sensor. fulfills the criteria My sc300 is equipped with three cameras. speed sensor on a wire The GPS interface has three buttons. in addition to wire Simply connect the two. It's as simple as that. br>br>Update from three years ago: br>It's still a fantastic game. Only finicky things to say would be that GPS signal isn always 1000% so speedo readings might jump around by maybe 5- 10 miles per hour (as if passing under a bridge). I'm not sure how cruise control systems will be affected by this. br>br>In addition, GPS triangulates after a few blocks of driving without a speedometer. Regardless, it's a fantastic solution, and setup and calibration are a breeze. simple.
It appears that the device is ineffective. When the button is pressed, I connected my oscilloscope to the signal output, but there is no signal there. It would have been a good deal if it had worked for the price, but it appears that this was just a way to get rid of defective merchandise, so I would recommend paying the higher price.
A minor niggle. The sensor must acquire the satellites for a few minutes. Allowing the car to idle for a few minutes prior to driving is beneficial. Aside from that, everything is fine! I'm very pleased.
worked! When the transmission in my Isuzu Axiom stopped turning the factory speed sensor, this product saved me from having to have it reconditioned or replaced. I am overjoyed! The sensor installed at the factory was already three years old. So all I had to do was connect the three wires from the GPS box and press the button until the speedo read 80 mph. The instructions were clear and concise. The product is effective.
This is a fantastic method. I went on a 500-mile road trip right after the installation. Except in tunnels, where it was expected, it worked flawlessly. This book comes highly recommended.
Because you're using a GPS, you can change gears or tire sizes and still maintain the same speed; The money spent was well spent.
