Questions & Answers

Is it a mechanical or an electric device?

Electric volt, mechanical water and oil

Is this something that is lit? What color, if any, are you talking about?

Yes, if desired, they can be lit with red or green bulb covers.

Is the temperature wire for the water heated?

It's possible that the wire that connects to the sending unit (engine) is hot, but the wire that runs through the engine compartment to the gauge shouldn't be.

Make a strategy in advance
5/5

It works perfectly, but you'll need a 7/8" drill bit to drill through the firewall. I used a 3/4" and it worked fine, but the supplied grommet is too small. The temperature probe must have a bushing on it to fit the plumbing in your engine; no, it does not come apart. br>I ordered the auto meter 3224 because I wanted a copper line instead of the nylon line. br>I have not yet connected the amp gauge, which will also supply the lighting. The gauge lighting is available in both green and red light shades.

Simple to set up
5/5

It looks fantastic. A Few Degrees In The Wrong Direction Normally, I operate a digital-only operation. Mechanical gauges are said to be more accurate than analog gauges. I've already installed those gauges in a few of my vehicles, so this was a breeze. The only thing I'm going to dock these stars for is the discrepancy between what the temp gauge says and what my EFI's display says. I'm not sure which one is correct, but I'm going to trust what the EFI controller says because they're only about 7 degrees apart (the gauge being the higher one). It's not a big deal because all I care about is the gauge needle going to the H peg. I chose the copper tube (Auto Meter 3224) for the oil pressure gauge because it is easier to keep an eye on the gauge than to take the EFI controller out of the glove box and sift through the data list. It's fantastic and I'm very pleased with it.

I would not suggest it
3/5

This gauge cluster was purchased for a 1966 Chevrolet Corvette. Everything was installed and wired according to the wiring diagram provided in the instructions. The water temperature and oil pressure were fine, but the volt meter in the middle was dead. To make sure I didn't make any mistakes, I had a mechanic double-check my work. He checked the gauge and told me it was broken, so he replaced it with a new one. Because I bought it in February 2018 but didn't get around to installing it until June. I couldn't return it, and if you did, you'd have to take everything apart and send it back when only one of the three gauges was broken. Autometer does not make me happy. You get what you pay for; go cheap and you'll end up with cheap goods.

THIS IS THE SET TO GET, AND IT'S WORTH THE EXTRA 20 BUCKS
5/5

BEST SWEEP- LARGE CLEAR MARKINGS DEGREE F. NEEDLE SWINGS A LONGER DISTANCE PER PSI. OR VOLT- My new Suntune gauge set has a larger, more visible needle that swings a longer distance than my old Suntune gauge set - Due to the close spacing of the numerals and the lack of sweep, you could barely see the needle move for 25 oil psi at idle. TEMP is more responsive, precise, and easy to read than older set-ups. The temperature is set to 100 degrees Fahrenheit. and the temperature differences are easily discernible! (Again, the needle sweep angle is significantly greater-) THESE 2 INCH DIAMETER GAUGES ARE EASY TO READ, FIT WELL IN LIMITED DASH SPACE, AND CAN BE SEEN AT A QUICK GLANCE. THE OLD SET BEGAN AT 160, SO THE NEEDLE hardly moved once it got to 180 or 190. The nylon oil hose is excellent; the last one lasted 20 years. Simply take your time and route it logically. Covering with a plastic wire loom cover is something I enjoy doing. at the firewall, heat sources, and so on, with a piece of fuel line hose or a grommet around it. Flexing or vibration causes copper line work to harden. Why waste your time installing crappy gauges when you can get good gauges for a good price?.

Low-cost three A working gauge setup
5/5

I purchased this entire kit to replace a worn-out triple gauge set with a non-replaceable non-replaceable non-replaceable non-replaceable non-replaceable non- In my 1972 Cutlass, I have a working thermometer. It was relatively simple to set up. A couple of points to consider: 1) Get to know your underwear. Identifying a switched 12v (for the volt meter) and courtesy lights (for the back-up camera) in the dash wiring illumination). 2) Additional brass adapters may be required for the temperature probe and/or oil pressure sender installation, depending on your intake manifold. I have an Edelbrock 7111 manifold on my Oldsmobile, which required an adapter for the temperature probe (don't worry, it should be fairly standard and available at your local auto parts store).

It gets the job done
4/5

These gauges aren't particularly flashy, but they get the job done, and because they're from Autometer, I chose them over other brands to ensure better quality for the critical task of engine monitoring. One bulb did not work and needed to be replaced, despite the fact that it was only a small cost. Because I did not have the bulb, going to the local auto store was inconvenient. It's just bad luck, in my opinion. These gauges are something I would consider purchasing again.

It's nice, but I have yet to install them, but they appear to be of good quality
4/5

I used to use SunPro in everything when I was younger. These are a little bigger and easier to read than the previous ones. They come with everything you need to set them up. I was disappointed to learn that they are no longer manufactured in the United States.

They'll inevitably crack and spew oil, just like mine did
5/5

It performs as expected. Instead of the plastic line that was provided, I would use a copper oil pressure line kit. They'll inevitably crack and spew oil, just like mine did.
