My switch was missing and only came with the chip. Please also keep in mind that the chip burner has been retired. SCT does not sell any software or hardware that can be used to burn to this chip. In any case, that's what I found out.
The 2000 F250 7 can be used with this device. 3L. You'd have to take it to a dealer to get custom tunes, though. The chip can only be customized and does not include any tunes.
There are no upgrades required for the chip. It does not, however, include any musical accompaniment. You'll need to take it to a custom tuning shop with a chip burner to have a custom tune for your vehicle burned onto the chip. Custom tunes are available for purchase separately.
It doesn't do anything unless it's been programmed. The RPM limiter, if you're talking about it, is adjustable.

I took the car to be dyno tuned, and it came back with one tune out of four that could be programmed.
If you buy from American Muscles, they will tune it before sending it to you, so it's not a bad product. This one was returned, and I purchased AM's.
First chip wouldn't fit on J3 port unless I bent some ECU resistors down out of the way of the chip; second chip wouldn't fit on J3 port unless I bent some ECU resistors down out of the way of the chip; third chip didn't fit on J3 port unless I bent some ECU resistors down out of the way of the chip; fourth chip wouldn't fit on J3 port unless I could either bend the resistors down or return it for one that fit as advertised, according to customer service. I returned the ECU because I didn't want to modify it. After a month, the second chip appeared - the problem is the same Because I was eager to get it in the car, I reluctantly bent the resistors down. My car began to run poorly, emitting black smoke, and my fuel pump began to run continuously. I gave it some time to learn the car because I assumed it would improve with practice, but it didn't. I removed it, and the car ran much better as a result. The fuel pump problem, on the other hand, persisted - BAMA, I appreciate your help. Fortunately, the fuel pump relay was only fried. did not result in the death of my computer I gave it back to you. After two months, five different refund amounts, and numerous phone calls to customer service, I finally received my money. What a squander of resources, both time and money. Hire a professional to tune your vehicle. You will save time and money as a result of this.
