At the sensors, it overwrites the program. It changes whatever tune is stored in the ecm.
This unit is fantastic; you can definitely feel the throttle response and it has more power. I had to trade in my Challenger for a truck, which was a real bummer. I've had a lot of issues with mine since the beginning. It was simple to set up, but it immediately began throwing codes. When I emailed the company, they responded quickly and politely. Uninstalled and received clear codes from a local Napa store. It threw codes again after I reinstalled it. Although the company offered to replace it, I refused and returned it in its original packaging. I purchased a diabolo turner.
My r/t does have a limiter, so I can't say it doesn't have one.

When I took it for a test drive after letting it idle for about 10 minutes, it definitely improved my acceleration and throttle response, but it also brought on the check engine light. The problem was a misfire code P0300, which I was able to resolve by removing the interceptor and unplugging the battery. br>br>Nice item, but not worth the risk of destroying my motor when there are other items that achieve the same results without causing this problem. When I contacted Hypertech, I was told that the problem in the interceptor was most likely due to a faulty module or wiring harness. I wasn't even offered a replacement. I returned it to Amazon for a refund because all it said was "OK thank you. " br>br>This appears to be a major missed opportunity by Hypertech in terms of customer service; if it does not throw any codes or cause any issues, it appears to be a great item for the charger. For items like this, quality control should be much tighter, but it could have been one that just slipped through, so I gave it 3 stars. It could have easily been a 5 star item except for the engine issue and customer service.
There has been a significant improvement in performance. It is simple to put together. The Engine Harness and the Gas Pedal Harness took about 40 minutes to install in total. The throttle response and car performance are noticeably different. I'm still looking to see if there are any MPG differences, but I haven't had the Interceptor in my car long enough to notice anything. More or less is the case. The Engine Harness is simple to install and has no effect on your ECU/Engine Computer. As a result, don't leave any flashes on your car's computer that could cause issues with your Chrysler Dealer when you take it in for service. br>br>To install the Throttle Pedal (gas pedal) Harness, you'll need to remove two clips under the dash and a panel. The Throttle Pedal plug is now easily accessible, and the Interceptor Harness can be installed without difficulty. Replace the panel as well as the two clips. done. br>br>Both Harnesses are available as stand-alone upgrades. It is not necessary to install both to see a performance boost over stock. If you're looking for a quick 15-minute workout, this is the one for you. 20 hp and 15 lb-ft. of torque Increased torque by 20 ft/lbs. then you have come to the right place.
If I'm being honest, I don't think I'm going to be able to say anything It took five minutes to complete the installation. If I notice a difference in power or torque because I installed a k, I'll let you know. If I had to do it all over again, I would pay an extra $200 for the Diablo trinity because of the functionality and customizability of the maps. You get what you pay for in the end.
The instructions are simple to follow, and the product is simple to set up. Does it improve 0-speed acceleration? Start the engine and let the product "get to know" the car by letting it idle for a few minutes (5 minutes) after installation, and then it's ready to drive.
It only took 7 minutes to complete the installation. I'm a little more energized now that I've fixed the sluggish peddle issue. In my case, there was no discernible increase in mileage. Of course, I put a lot of miles on my Charger as well.
You can adjust tire size, axle ratios, and read DTCs just like other programmers, but the Interceptor is just a few cables you connect, with no screen or scanning capability.
My mpg has improved. It's nice to have a little extra oomph when I need it. Fit and finish of superior quality.
