Because of the thickness and compressibility of the 100% flexible graphite, heating and cooling of the exhaust system causes header and manifold flanges to warp, resulting in gaps between the head and header that Remflex exhaust gaskets completely seal.

The combination of an aluminum cylinder head and a steel header or manifold is prone to gap issues in the mating flanges due to the dissimilar materials' contraction and expansion; Remflex exhaust gaskets permanently fill those gaps.

Remflex exhaust gaskets contain no rubber binders or composite materials, so they won't shrink or harden with time or temperature, eliminating the need to retighten your flange bolts over and over.

These are the gaskets that should have come with the headers, and they are an excellent product

The pacesetter gaskets that burned all the way through in several spots, even after gasket matching, were replaced with a very thick compressible material that made an excellent seal that has held up well. If you like to get things right the first time, get this with the header; you won't be disappointed.

JBA headers on a 3L V6 Vortec daily driver. Headers go from hot to cold in a matter of seconds. The stock and JBA header gaskets both failed after a short time.
