I purchased it as a fuel filter for the solenoid of a nitrous oxide system. The package is the exact same size and weight as the original A much cheaper alternative to the NOS filter has the same dimensions. A bonus was that it was a Wix site, whose quality is always excellent. The majority of the time, yes. In spite of the lower quality, this is a replacement for the original Wix filter I installed 30 years ago. In the original, there were gold-colored accents The picture shows an anodized finish (like the replacement), but this one is much lighter and has a tin colored finish. This was a lighter and less substantial piece of luggage. There's no way to be sure what the filtering media will be like, but I hope it's the same. Whatever the case, it still worked, but it wasn't the same as it once was. It is made in China at a lower cost.

Although WIX is supposed to be durable, I had to order a replacement because the first one snapped off as I tightened it.

When you use brake cleaner, the WIX logo and part number come right off. had Autolite stamps made up you could make a filter that looks NOS from a fraction of the cost of a original. The fuel line that came with mine is safe for modern fuels as well.

The filter is small and compact and has a good build quality. The carburetor is meant to thread on to it when I bought it I didn't realize that when I bought it. I was unable to use my carb since it did not have the proper fitting.
