Questions & Answers

If the pump is not powered, does it flow freely, or do I need a separate solenoid (closed power off)? Are you using on a secondary tank and need a control system?

It does free flow according to the Holly web site. Because another clown answered no to this question, I decided to test ours. I disconnected the pump from my boat line and put it on its own line and did it with no trouble. HEPs are not so expensive Cheap 02A low pressure pumps DO NOT achieve pass through and can be obtained for as little as ten bucks. My own blower also has one of those holes, and I've tried blowing through There is no free movement of them. Holley is a person you can trust. The Holley line of products is still as reliable as ever. I've been using them since the 1970s, and they continue to impress me.

Do you think this would work for a ?

Due to its very good handling of gas, I believe it would also work well with diesel fuel, since diesel has fewer refining properties. I have no complaints about this pump, except that it is a little noisy.

Are you sure this will work on an 18cc hydrosport?

Don't know what that is for sure. This engine works well on both my 19ft SeaRay and 1987 Fleetwood Brougham, both of which have Chevy 350cui. The engine is one inch in diameter. Thanks for asking! I hope this was helpful.

Do you think this diesel pump will work in my truck's fuel tank as a diesel transfer pump?

Is it compatible with diesel fuel? Yes, it is. There is only about 30 gallons of flow per hour, so filling the tank would take a long time. An engine fitted with a carburetor is more appropriate for the application.

Selected User Reviews For Holley (12427) Fuel Pump

The most ridiculous thing I've ever heard! The name Holley gives you the sense that you are getting a quality product
3/5

This was not the case with this product. I decided to give this product a shot despite the negative reviews, thinking that the source of the bad reviews could be user error. There was no way I could have been right. Even though it indicates it can deliver 7 psi in the description, in reality it is lucky to deliver one. Approximately five pounds per square inch. Buying this can cause you to get ripped off so be cautious. The one I personally have will be replaced with a quality product, and the one I have at the moment will be thrown away where it.

The process worked well, but it was very Having replaced it with an old aftermarket pump that had failed after 20 years, I was able to save quite a bit of money
3/5

Located outside the tank, about halfway between the bottom and middle, this pump is available for any watering need. A three-inch lift device pushing fuel up 18 inches and though eight feet of fuel line is easily enough to feed an engine with a Holley 390 - which is mounted on a two-inch lift system. The 8 Liter Inline 6 engine. The advertised description says it is quiet, but in fact it is not. The music is quite loud in fact. In the car while it is running, and even while sitting in the driver's seat, I can hear the pump. In the case of this noise, it isn't a whirring sound like a computer fan rather, it is a clicking/chirping sound, which is extremely am waiting for a replacement, a Carter P60430 pump, that will be identical to the one I had before. If you're on a tight budget or if you're running an open exhaust system at the race track, this will do the job. is not the kind of drive you want on a quiet Sunday afternoon.

There is no point in this pump
3/5

My 350 had a 750 Holley inlet with a pressure gauge on the carburetor. I spliced it in. There are four stars listed on this item In the beginning, it was only 3 psi. After about four hours, it then fell to 2 psi. To get it home, I had to stop every mile to fill the carb. The pump is junk, Holley even if it's made in the USA, your garbage is still rubbish.

I like how it works
5/5

They are a little louder than the cheaper versions, though not as loud as they used to be. In the first place, yes, this is a pass-through pump, which allows fuel to flow even when the ignition is When my truck has been sitting for more than two days, I use it to prime the carburetor. My device has been set to a momentary, push-button state This switch has three buttons, and I prime it Once it is running, I need to crank it over for 5 seconds so that my mechanical pump takes over. For the past several months, it has worked reliably (even when I run it just a few seconds at a time) - It is still going.

The outcome was ineffective, as well as loud
3/5

The volume on this thing is high, as stated by others. The tap of this thing is still audible even with the windows down on my old 1978 K15. The worst part is, it won't prime itself. The fuel line was eventually disconnected from the carb and sucked through until primed then it worked fine. I have a coworker who does the same thing but she infuses fuel from her tank first. The worker suggested I use a bulb similar to one on an outboard motor for your boat to prime it. I love it. Holly products shouldn't require me to go through that kind of crap.

Air hammer sounds like that
3/5

As a replacement for an even louder electric pump, I bought this one. Besides the jack, it also has a USB port Approximately 5 beats per second are used to create the sound of a hammer. You should not use this pump for anything newer than a 1956 Dodge dump truck. I'll probably use it for oil pumping on my bench, but it does not belong in an automobile.

I am pleased with the product
4/5

I spent my money well. I turned off my engine There is a lot of noise from this pump until the line is pressurized. There won't be any noise from the engine while it is running. A D150 pickup is using it to assist a mechanical pump. In the event of a power failure, it could run the (carbureted) engine alone. I found that even when the power to this electric pump was lost, my mechanical pump was still able to draw fuel. that you include a solution that powers the engine off, just like is mentioned in the installation guide. It releases fuel when the pump is left on after the engine has been turned off, so if the pump is left on after the engine has been turned off, you'll smell fuel.

Buying anything else will be a waste of money
5/5

It has been my experience that these 12v electric fuel pumps last for longer than 6 months, so I have bought several of them. In addition to my snowmobile, tractor, and jeep, they now operate my farm equipment as well.
