Normaly open, usually closed, normally open, normally closed, are those two terms that go in the Connections that are shared by the two switches are called common connections. Terminals are the most common type. The fuel pump is connected to this hose. In these cases, the no terminal is connected to the fuse panel, and the nc is connected to the solenoid. Low oil pressure is usually indicated by the no terminal. We set the switches so that oil pressure triggers the closing and opening of both switches when the engine is running. As soon as you turn on the ignition to start the engine, power is applied to the NC switch, starting the fuel pump. NOs are closed when oil pressures reach normal operating levels. Fuel is pumped through the NO terminal and power is obtained through the NO cable. We have now closed the course.
My one still remains in the box, so I haven't used it yet. I will give it a try when I get a chance and let you know what I think
This section is connected to the common and NO terminals by the oil pressure safety switch. The oil pressure must be greater than 5 psi for the contacts to close. There is an element of safety offered by this. I was involved in a car crash. As a result of a damaged fuel line, fuel continues to flow, which would feed a fire. If the fuel is wired properly, as soon as the engine stops, the fuel is cut
Oil pressures of 5 PSI and above cause the switch to close. Oil pressures below 5 PSI cause the switch to open. If the closing point is exactly 5 PSI, it makes little difference since engines operate with oil pressure between 30 and 60 PSI, and pressure drops to zero when the engine is turned

E- and Did The fuel conversion on my 7 is done automatically. I connected this to a 3 Powerstroke and used it to switch the pump on/off (using a relay, of course). It's working perfectly for the past six months. It's a direct replacement for a plug that's on the oil cooler on this engine. Just thread it in, and as soon as you crank, it senses the oil press and turns the pump on, and turns it off as soon as you shut off the engine. also have a manual toggle switch wired to the relay, but I rarely use it unless I need the fuel to be drained or do some work on the fuel lines.
At first, one of them worked fine and turned off the pump. It is no longer possible to get a response from them. Holley quality is not good after I had an issue with a brand new red Holley pump as well. March 2014 Below is an update for the month of March. It appears I used the wrong application of the product. I just checked the Holley site and the page says it's for oil pressure. However, the Amazon page says it's for fuel pressure. By switching off this switch, I was able to turn off the electric fuel pump as soon as the fuel pressure exceeded I received a similar power supply as a gift for Christmas and it worked great for the first few days, but after a few weeks or days, it would just keep hanging around and wouldn't shut off no matter what pressure I built up. I purchased three switches and all of them exhibited this issue. As a result, I have ripped them out and will just use a relay off the ignition to drive the fuel pumps via These should not be connected to a gas line if you want to connect them to the gas line. Up above, I believe Amazon has used the wrong terminology. Holley is still not to my taste. In their more expensive fuel pump, there was a chipped magnet that occasionally caused the fuel pump to malfunction when it became My brain was buzzing after I figured that Compared to the cheaper generic one from Summit in Ohio, the racing track in Akron, the Summit one I wish you all the best!.
Switches the power on and off. A hydraulic circuit can be made to only operate when oil pressure is present by adding some relays. I noticed a few threads that were dinged, but they were not too bad.
This is a great safety switch for the fuel pump. Plugged into the oil passageways and used as a switch for the fuel pump to cut off the flow of oil when oil pressure is low. I recommend this to anyone looking for a good product. It has lasted longer than cheaper ones I tried before.
It is impossible for me to install an electric fuel pump without one of these.
The mark is clear and the function is faultless.
A screw is needed to attach this to the oil pressure gauge connector. This switch and the oil pressure sender were allowed to be accommodated by a brass nip and a tee. During a fire, loss of oil pressure interferes with the electric fuel pump relay, which stops power to it if it is wired correctly. It is a good idea to insure your boat or vehicle against fuel leaks.
For an installation in specific conditions, a great safety product.
