Since I started these over twenty years ago, I have managed them. Rebuild kits are available. However, since the price of new ones is so reasonable, I just get a new one every three to four It is one of the things I did a few years ago -- let it run a bit dry. If you do that, they will die quickly. One tank has a switch while the other has two tanks. There have been times when I have let one tank run dry, then flipped the switch for the next tank when I wasn't paying attention. This is not a good thing for long life. I think it also shows a lack of intelligence. The blinking light will tell me when I reach one gallon, and the switch will turn on when it does. Having someone like this on hand is a true lifesaver.
