It was a job well done. All you have to do is find the right combination of rods and jets so that you can achieve your ideal Air/Fuel ratio. The problem with Edelbrock is you need to compromise sometimes because if you want a lot of power, you might have to divert some of the cruise power. However, since your engine combination is distinct (each is unique) you might be able to get it right both while cruising and under.
Don't leave a rating for the jet, but for the carb. I like how easy it is to mix and match Make sure the Edelbrock carb has the same rods and jets. To perform the work, the carb does not have to be removed.
AFR adjustment was just what the doctor ordered for my 302 Ford. Once the Edelbrock metering rods and jets are used to tune the Carter AFB carburetor, there has been an increase in power across all RPMs and an improved shift.
This was the perfect fit.
I expected them to be exactly what they were. I was hoping they would be used for testing, but they'll only be used for testing.
I am in the process of tuning my 1406 carb to 1405 specs. We have the 1405 stock metering rods on order now as well. In comparison to the 1405 carbs which were tuned for performance and have a mechanical choke, the 1406 edlebrock carbs are leaner and are better for fuel economy. There are two types, which differ in jet and metering rod sizes. Electrical vs mechanical chokes are also used in some applications. There you go! In addition to that, they're the same carbohydrate!.
The best on the market.
