First and foremost, Edelbrock should include this as part of their carburetor. Most stock air breathers will hit the fitting or the fuel line if you use the straight out fuel line that came with the carburetor, but this banjo fitting only fits one way. straight down the road Otherwise, you'll have to remove some extra material from the carb to get it to go in at the right angle. Second, the gas line cannot be turned on after it has been installed. When attempting to install the hose, there is insufficient space between the carb and the nipple. There is, however, an answer. You can buy or make a washer to space the fitting out from the inlet by using the original rubber coated washer. It's not easy to find that washer, and it's even more difficult to fake one. I've finally found one that'll do the trick: Mr Gasket 491950 - Mr Gasket 491950 - Mr Gasket 491950 6 To 5/8- Gasket for a 20 Carburetor Fitting. The "gasket" is actually an aluminum washer, which will give you the space you need to install the fuel line. Here's how I did it: Rubber-coated washers, aluminum washers, plastic washers, and so on. Because I had a low-profile air cleaner, the standard Edelbrock fuel inlet didn't allow it to sit properly on the carburetor. I have a small hood and didn't like the spacer I had previously purchased, so this brought the fuel line in line with the inlet tube. I should've bought it from the beginning.
I despise Edelbrock's decision to use plastic washers instead of metal ones. The plastic was crushed/pinched as a result of the leaks. Problem solved by replacing it with a 20-year-old brass washer that I had lying around from an old carburetor.
This was used on my Edelbrock 1406 to connect a rubber line from my old stock line to the newbr>carb. It works well and there are no leaks, so it's a win-win situation.
I gave it four stars because I was disappointed that it wasn't made in the United States of America as advertised. Taiwan was where I got mine. That said, the Edelbrock 8131 fuel line, which also solves the drop base issue and looks great on your engine, is my recommendation for the future.
On my edelbrock carburetor, it worked like a charm.
It works great and is made of clear Teflon. The ring was strange at first, but I put it on and off several times before it leaked. It cleared the cheap chrome air cleaner that I had on my Edelbrock 600. If you look at the passenger side of the carb, it should be around 8:.
