So far, mine have held up quite well. It's been three years now.
No idea what you mean by "hot shot pipes", but think you're referring to an aftermarket exhaust, in which case exhaust is irrelevant. The carburetor slips into them, and they bolt to the head. No matter what exhaust you choose, they will work with your bike as long as they are for your bike.

Buying OEM is the best option. Even though the oring falls out, lubricant is supposed to prevent that from happening in the first place. It's the vacuum ports that are driving me crazy. My hand was soaked with dirty water after synchronizing the carburetors, and my whole port blew off. Glued it back into place after trying to remove it. As a result of the rubber overspray on the mating surfaces, I had to clean both surfaces. A brief update It has been a little over 3 months since these boots were purchased. Due to such a massive vacuum leak, the bike won't run at all. It would not look good on a bike owned by my worst enemy.
Exactly what I wanted. It was hard to actually do the installation because I was doing this for the first time.
Quality original equipment manufacturer.
I am very pleased with it!.
This causes major vacuum leaks because the rings do not fit and the boots do not seal.
This is a good fit for me. For the money, it appears to be a great part. You did an amazing job!.
A perfect fit is achieved between the carburetor intake boots.
Those old boots on my V Star 1100 were beginning to show their age. Fit was perfect, but the O Ring was a pain in the rear, but that is a problem with every brand I've used.
