The mbrp t5111 is a specialized'set' of two tips for the 2011 - Super duty diesel 2015 Ford F-Series Is this the same'set' as the previous one?

Yes, but make sure Amazon includes both tips in the package. Amazon had a problem with this because they only sent one tip, despite the fact that the box was marked 1 of 2. When calling customer service, ask to speak with an American because the Phillipines do not understand the concept of a "set" as more than one piece.

Do you have a couple of pointers now that it's set?

2 tips. Make sure you get one long and one short tip from them.

Is there a way to see what it looks like after it's been installed? Unless you cut the factory tips off first, it appears that you will see the factory tips inside this?

After some additional installation work, it looks fantastic

These look great on my truck, but getting them to look as good as they do took a little more effort than simply bolting them on. The stock exhaust tip sticks out like a sore thumb in the middle of these MBRP tips, making them very noticeable and, in my opinion, unsightly. So, to improve this, I painted the stock exhaust tips black with high heat paint, then painted the inside of the MBRP tips black as well, then slid the new tips on over the stock tips a little less than MBRP intended. They now sit about an inch further out than the stock exhaust tips, bringing them to a point where they are even with the Ford mud flaps on my truck and don't appear to protrude too far. There's also no problem because the vent holes in the stock exhaust tips are still open and working properly. Anyway, you can see how nice they look on my truck in the photos.

Good product, but Amazon's customer service is abysmal

The tips are great and look great on the vehicle; I just wish Amazon would get its act together when selling this product. If you order this product, keep in mind that the tips are advertised and sold as a set, but Amazon only sends one tip, not the entire set. I was able to resolve the issue after three phone calls and working through a supervisor. When Amazon was contacted, they were unable to determine the nature of the problem because the customer service representatives were based in another country and were unfamiliar with the concept of a set; all they wanted to do was have me return and repurchase the item. Even though I ordered a set of tips, I only received one.
