Overall, I'm happy with them. I used them on a 350 Chevy marine engine and have had no leaks after three months of use. Even better, because of the rubber design, I've reused these gaskets at least three times for setting valve timing.
A stock Chevy cast iron block with aluminum valve covers is what I have. To ensure a tight fit, I had to file the corners of the gaskets. If I didn't, the valve cover would press against the gasket's edge, preventing it from sealing properly. These gaskets are well-made, but I believe the corners have a little too much extra rubber. They appear to work because there are no leaks after filing a little and pressing them into place while tightening the cover down.
To put it another way, these are low-quality, made-in-China gaskets that are way overpriced for what they provide.
It's perfect.
I installed these on a 66 C10 motor and had no problems. The only thing I would suggest is that you run your bolts through the valve covers first, then these, and then bolt them down. This makes the job a lot easier. br>br>Vehicle: Chevrolet Belair, model 1953.
Too long. These were purchased to go with my 1969 Corvette 350/300HP Automatic. They were too big for the valve covers. They were a bit excessive.
Unlike cork gaskets, these should last a long time.
