Aluminum that has been cast
No, 460 is not the same as 390.
There are no holes drilled in the covers for a PVC valve or filler cap, and they are sold as a pair. However, the casting is thinner on both ends of the cover, allowing you to drill the hole exactly where you want it. It's very simple, and both covers feature those areas. Splash guards that bolt to the inside of the covers are also included.

These are insanely awesome. I'm thrilled to have these beautiful covers. I do want to caution everyone not to use the screws that have been provided. A regular screwdriver is all that's needed to snap them. When I purchased them used, one of the oil deflectors had been snapped off inside. Because I had eight original screws, I assumed it was the wrong one and gently installed them, but they snapped. I'm currently removing them and replacing them with m4 screws. Simply tap the holes for m4 bolts if you want to save time. This is a major oversight on the part of the manufacturer, and it needs to be addressed as soon as possible. As a result of this, they will receive a large number of returns. If you want to make things easier, use aluminum rivets. In any case, I'm pretty sure these are meant to stay put. Another thing I discovered is that the corner bolt hole is too small to accommodate a socket, and the bolt head will not fit properly. It took a lot of grinding and an open end wrench to get the bolt to turn. I wouldn't recommend the product for the price because it looks pretty ghetto.
Although they appear to be of good quality, they are of poor quality. On both valve covers, the bolt holes were misaligned to the point where one of the bolts could not be inserted. They come with a nice breather, two grommets, and four baffles, but you'll have to drill your own holes for the breather and pcv. This isn't a big deal, but it's something to keep in mind as a buyer. The baffles are held in place by self-tapping screws that easily break when tapped into the aluminum. I bought these valve covers a long time ago and have never had any problems with them. The current ones are made in China, which may have something to do with the quality issues. For the record, I am a big Ford fan, but it's really disappointing to pay a premium price for something that looks like something you'd find in the pep boys dressup isle.
It's incredibly gleaming and appears to be extremely durable. The valve covers, to my surprise, had holes in them. I was under the impression that I would have to drill them based on reviews, but that wasn't the case. It came with one PVC-holed cap, and the fact that the cap also said Ford Racing was a nice touch. I was hoping for a generic cap for the other hole, but there isn't one available. As a result, I'll go to a nearby auto shop and get one. I'm very happy. I'm looking forward to putting it on my boat. YA!.
Nice.
Very good.
