Hi-Tech Roller Race Timing Sets have three keyways on the crankshaft sprocket, which are designed to help ensure the best performance. The camshaft is installed with zero degrees of advance in the middle keyway, while the other two keyways allow for 4 degrees of advance or retard, which is essential for anyone who degrees in their camshafts.

Is this compatible with an 88 Chevy K1500 5? tbi = tbi = tbi = tbi = tb ?
My guess is yes if you've tried a stock timing gear and found it to be too small. I couldn't find the right timing set in any auto parts store, but this one fit my 1988 350 with a roller cam perfectly. I hope this information is useful.

With a few changes, it should fit. If you're looking for a stock replacement, the OEM part is the way to go.

Purchased through Amazon's warehouse sales. To make it fit, I had to clear my 638 block. If you're using a zz4 roller cam plate, the shorter bolt heads are required for clearance. My 95 TBI truck core engine and accessories fit perfectly under the stock timing cover and serpentine system. Please give my post a thumbs up if it was helpful in any way.

For the cam gear on the 7 vortec roller engine, the block had to be ground a little. Everything went smoothly.

It is not compatible with a 2001 Chevrolet Blazer. This was purchased for my vehicle, and it was supposed to fit, but it did not. It's well worth the money, but not for my car.
