Questions & Answers
The 2103 Magnum timing set is designed to work with Chrysler 273-series vehicles. From 1956 to 1960, 360 LA and Magnum were two of the most popular films in the United States. This will fit your engine because it is an '02 model.
We don't have any timing sets for that engine, unfortunately.
There is no tensioner in this timing set.
It was compatible with my 1998, so I believe you're safe because in 1999 - They arrived at the 4 at 00 p.m. 7 liter

So, this was my first engine rebuild, and it was a learning experience. I'll pass along (what should have been obvious to me in retrospect) some tidbits for anyone who hasn't done this before. When you've lined up the cam and the crank, the most important things to remember (I have a 93 Grand Cherokee 5. ) are the following. The difference between a 2L v8 (magnum) and a 2L v8 (supercharged) is that the cam should be pointed straight down with a dot. Cyl 1 should be at TDC when it is straight down. This is because the crank (this one) gear has three keyed/marked positions: a circle, a square, and a triangle, and they aren't all that well aligned with the keys. A 'dot' (for 0 degrees), an 'A' (for advance), and an 'R' (for retard) are used to denote the three positions in most cases. I lined up the crank and the cam to the circle and dot (respectively) thinking I knew what I was doing, but I didn't pay attention to where the piston was (or rather, where it should be) - Only the dot caught my attention. After 4 or 5 bent pushrods and 8 replaced exhaust valves (maybe intake, I'm not sure), I decided to ask someone for help. br>br>Moral of the story: the cam dot drops, and piston one reaches TDC.
This is the set that I installed on my 69 318 la. A built-in collar prevented the crank sprocket from slipping off the back of the crank. It was close to being the ideal fit. I put some engine oil in a pot and warmed the lower gear for 10 minutes on low heat, and it fit perfectly. There were no issues with the cam gear. Keep in mind that the timing set can advance or retard your cam gear timing, so read the instructions carefully. Allow yourself plenty of time.
It has a sprocket with two teeth. There is a lower probability of slipping. I'm hoping to get a hundred thousand miles out of it.
My 1999 Dodge 1500 small block 318 V8 was a perfect fit for it. The chain was even tighter and much more difficult to attach. The dots were simple to read, and setting the time gears for the first time was a breeze.
They are of excellent quality and are a perfect fit for the 318 Magnum engine. The quality is excellent. The sprockets are shaped differently depending on whether you want to advance or retard the timing; the O or round key method is for factory timing, which I used.
It appears that the marks are half a tooth off. Of course, it was simple to set up. Aside from what appears to be a bad stamping, this appears to be a pretty good set.
I would recommend it to anyone looking for a great replacement chain for their vehicle.
