However, I prefer the color black, so it's fine. I'm unable to remove the dip stick from the tube at this point. The locking mechanism is in good working order, and there are no obstructions. There are no dents or issues that I can see, but it appears to have been epoxied in. I'll continue working on it in the hopes of not having to return it. br>NOTE: THIS PAGE HAS BEEN UPDATED. The stick finally came out after three people pulled on it. The two bends at the end of the stick, which are intended for positioning and holding, appear to be steeper than necessary. in the absence of re- I shaped them too much, but they're now snug and easier to remove. It'll never fall out or leak, which is a plus. good value for money.
For my 1987 4WD V20 Silverado 350, TH400, this was far too short. I had to go back. It was also of low quality.
The grommet is too thick to fit in the hole where the dip stick tube should be. I had to use a different generic dipstick, which worked fine. The tube's stop is also slipped over by the grommet.
It was a success.
It really works. Even better, the price. They're every bit as good as the ones that cost twice as much.
In an 86 GMC pickup, the stick would barely reach the top of the block, making reaching it nearly impossible. I'll need to track down a genuine tube. stick.
The bends are all wrong, so it didn't fit. To get it to fit, I had to pound it with a rubber mallet. The dipstick itself is fine, so I'll probably just buy a regular tube and use the dipstick that came with it.
