Questions & Answers
My car was a '42 Chevy with a 350/350 engine. Although custom lengths are available, I believe the length to be 24 inches. Because this one is firewall mounted but can be mounted almost anywhere, you'll have to determine if it will work on your own. You could cut a piece of garden hose and feed it down from the engine compartment, with a friend (if you have one) putting the other end at the transmission to see how it fits. Best wishes to you.

The dipstick tube has a length of 26 inches. Yes, it's a tight fit, but don't listen to the jerk who said it didn't fit in his review. If you have a TH400, the instructions tell you what to do, and it worked perfectly. The way the nut should be "clocked" is one thing it doesn't mention. I've attached a diagram that should assist you in determining the end position. I switched back to a factory steel pan, which cleared the nut perfectly in the position shown. I had the other Lokar dipstick tube with the tqo o-ring that was friction fit. This transmission is in an off-road buggy, and the rings are ringing. That thing was always leaking and never stayed closed. I'm optimistic about this setup and will update you after some trail time. Also, because I roll a lot, I'll let you know how well the dipstick holds up when turned upside down.
I had a transmission leak that I couldn't stop because the stock dipstick tube kept leaking, so I decided to try this, and it worked perfectly. The only drawback is the cost and the fact that you have to remove the transmission pan to install it. It's also a little long, and I had a hard time mounting the top side without deforming the tube.
There will be no more leaks, and filling is a breeze.
br>I was hesitant because of the cost, but it's a fantastic part!.
It only takes a few minutes to remove the pan from the transmission, whether it is in or out of a vehicle. to put in place Most units, I believe, include a storage plug (check for your specific vehicle) that allows for secure storage. There is no need for a special fill tool because the fill tube fits most tranny funnels. It's great to get something that's worth the money, and you'll get that with this one!.
It's a little pricey, but it's worth it! There's no more leaking, and the quick connect is great because you can put the small plug in without making a mess when pulling the trans out.
Fit good. It's leak-proof, but it's a lot more expensive than it needs to be.
Dipstick is very nice, flexible, and locking. It even includes a plug to install so you don't get covered in transmission fluid if you ever have to remove the transmission. The installation instructions were clear, and yes, you must pull the pan out to install it. While you're in there, apply the filter.
