To begin, these pulleys are intended for use with short water pumps. I used a Weiand water pump with a short action. I have a Comp Cams Magnum timing chain and an 80000 damper from Professional Products. My water pump had to be shimmed out. Because my pump wouldn't clear my polished aluminum timing cover, I needed a 125 inch to line up the pulleys, which was ideal for me. After installing, they're perfect. Allstar spacer with a length of 125 inches. Because most sbc short pump pulleys are super short, this will pose a problem for the alternator mounting, in my opinion. It should be fine with some washers under the alternator bracket, and I can fabricate to make it work because I've done this before. I would recommend something different for pulleys for the average person. A better choice would be billet specialties or march performance, and v belt pulleys are usually better for alignment.
