When you use a stud kit, you'll never use bolts again, and it also holds the gasket in place while you're installing it in the car, eliminating the need to fiddle with the gaskets. Place the studs, gasket, and pan in place. The silicone one-piece gaskets can be used with these studs because they are long enough.
The oil pan for my small-block Chevy worked perfectly.
This kit came in handy when it came time to install my Moroso pan. The studs on the outer end could have been a little longer, which is the only reason I gave it 4 out of 5 stars. Once I had the pan in place with the thick felpro gasket I used, getting the nuts on was a little more difficult. br>br>Aside from that, these studs were fine; they made aligning the oil pan gasket before installing the pan a breeze.
It's simple to strip.
Works great with the felpro one-piece gasket, and is the only way to go if you're installing the motor upside down in the truck.
