Questions & Answers

Is this compatible with an 89 S10 4WD?

That is, I believe, what it is for.

Is there a dip stick and how much oil will it hold?

If my memory serves me correctly, it holds 6 quarts and has a dip stick in the engine; the difficult part was removing the old oil pickup and replacing it with the deep one. The pan does not include a dip stick. I also ordered a one-piece pan gasket instead of the two-piece set that came with the pan. This pan allowed me to move the engine 3/4 of an inch forward in my 1957 Chevy. Rack and pinion steering is a type of steering system that uses a rack and pinion system

Your options for S10 V8 pans that clear the cross member are limited
3/5

This is my second Hamburger pan; the first was in better condition and had no rust; however, some of the welds have a lot of spatter, which will take several hours to clean before installation. You don't want your pump to pick up spatter balls and run them through your engine, which is why they didn't notch the pickup tube to clear the oil scraper, as I suspected. Another thing to keep in mind is that if you plan to run your engine at speeds higher than 5000 rpm, you'll need to install an additional windage tray over the valley because the one in the pan is insufficient for high RPM engines. I know because I had this problem with the first one, and adding a second tray corrected the oil pressure drop caused by cavitation. So, to cut a long story short, it will work, but don't expect it to go in without some preparation unless you're okay with metal and rust running through your engine.

Oil pan with the number S10
5/5

This is a conversion kit for a Chevy S10 truck. I used it to move the engine 3/4 of an inch forward in a 1957 Chevy. When I went hard over, the oil pan on my stock gen 1 350 engine hit the center bar of my steering. The oil pan would have gotten a hole in it. I needed a larger oil pan, and this fit the bill perfectly. I also ditched the steering column in favor of a rack and pinion steering system. Pinning steering is a term used to describe how a vehicle steer With the engine moved forward 3/4 of an inch, the oil pan also clears the rack. I used a single-piece oil pan gasket instead of the multi-piece oil pan gasket. The oil pan includes a one-piece gasket.
