I replaced the stock AISIN unit in my '86 Toyota MR2 AW11 with this unit and it works perfectly. However, the design of the fluid reservoir is slightly different, and where it counts Upon mounting the pedal to the firewall and where the bolts are located This is an exact 1-digit number The only complaint is that it fits only one vehicle! If you can wait for it, Amazon ships for a pretty good price in place of buying locally. replace my slave cylinder while I was parking at the Home Depot because it failed on me. I had no choice but to run down to O'Reilly's to get the replacement part. In the meantime I ordered the master cylinder from Amazon, as it hadn't failed yet, and I'd still have some time before it failed. But I knew I'd have to replace it too if the master also failed.
My 1985 Toyota MR2 (AW11) came with an exact copy of the OEM master cylinder. I found it to be very easy to install, but be sure to have the bolt adjusted for freeplay after installation. tried to drive to work and my clutch got stiff along the way because it wasn't being released evenly. Due to slipping, the flywheel and clutch disc were generating too much heat, which resulted in boiling brake fluid in the slave cylinder. Additionally, the method of bench bleeding does not really need to be used.
However, it failed after only a couple of weeks due to a lack of comfort and fit. The pressure failed to hold. Here's what I found out Before concluding that the master cylinder was the culprit, I bled the system again. We went with an OEM made by AISIN.
Easy to install, quick to order and quick to get to.
Although installing this is not the most fun thing to do, it's the absolute perfect master cylinder for your Mk1 To replace my leaking stock one and bring my clutch pedal back to life, this clutch pedal was exactly what I needed.
Very good.
It's an oem that works well.
