Questions & Answers

Is a perfectly straight/flush line required, or should a flared line be used? The rubber hose grabs a 3/8" pipe that has a small ridge. ?

It's designed for use with an efi quick disconnect, not a hose barb.

Is this compatible with the 5.9's 5/16 fuel rail? Is there a third LM7 engine?

No, it's for 3/8, but I believe they make a 5/16 version as well.

The safest way to upgrade from a 3/8 quick connect to a 6AN connector

If you want to convert a male 3/8 quick connect to a male 6AN, this is the way to go. The only thing to keep in mind is that the male 3/8 line should be as straight as possible. My fuel rail connector had a small bend in it that needed to be straightened in order for the two parts to line up properly. But, thanks to this and the Push Lock hose and fittings, I was able to build a fuel system that had no leaks the first time around.

The positive thread lock is a fantastic feature that gives me peace of mind that they will not come undone. They appear to be a huge improvement over the factory clips. The rings were well-fitting and simple to put on.

The black coating comes off during assembly, which is the only disappointment I have. It's flimsy and can't withstand the torques.

Russell makes a great product, but keep in mind that these are only compatible with factory-style filters and not aftermarket filters. I was able to get it to work with my aftermarket filter, but I had to grind away nearly a quarter of an inch of material from the filter's nut to gain clearance. The item is fantastic in and of itself.
