I scheduled a charge every six months in my calendar. Since I purchased it, I've had to use it twice. It had been under my pickup's seat for at least four months both times. Everything went according to plan. It had been about two months since the last time. The device had been in my truck for over four months and had no trouble cranking over a friend's big Lexus engine; it only had to be used once to pay for itself.
We're sorry to hear that your GB150 isn't working properly. The Boosts have a 1-point advantage over the opposition. Replacements are covered by a one-year warranty, but assistance should be sought from NOCO Support.
The Noco marketing department, I believe, simply tweaked the specs to make them "slightly" more realistic. The new "3000A" units appear to be the same as the older "4000A" units, in my opinion. Much more information can be found in my previous response on this page (Newest first). I hope this has been of assistance.
Selected User Reviews For NOCO Boost Pro GB150 3000 Amp 12-Volt UltraSafe Lithium Jump Starter Box, Car Battery Booster Pack, Portable Power Bank Charger, and Jumper Cables For Up To 9-Liter Gasoline and 7-Liter Diesel Engines
Over the years, I've bought and used a wide variety of jump starters. I was looking for something new after another well-known brand failed me after less than 90 days. I came across the NOCO Boost GB150 and was dubious about the advertised 4000 amps. I bought two of these three months ago and was, and continue to be, blown away. I was able to jumpstart 13 of them. I use these almost every day and multiple times during the day, and I thought a battery pack of this size couldn't handle a 0L Navistar diesel engine with ease. I love that I can charge my work truck's battery with a cigarette lighter 12V charger. To check for alternator/generator voltage, the digital voltage reading on the front of the battery is extremely useful. br>There are a few things I've noticed that will help you get the most from it.
1. After you've finished using it, recharge it by plugging it into a 12V cigarette light. It'll be ready for the next time this way, and it'll be the most efficient way to charge the battery.
2. If you need to jump start a large diesel truck, don't use the jump starting posts. The best results come from clamping directly to the battery posts. I've used only the jump starting posts on occasion, and the engine would only slowly crank over. The motor started right up when I clamped on straight to the batteries!.
Has never failed to start anything, not even my 6. A total of six Duramax diesel engines have been installed. The reviewers who claimed it wouldn't start a car with a completely dead battery hadn't read the instructions; you can jump a car without a battery if you want to. If the battery falls below a certain level, the auto feature does not turn on, but the instructions clearly state what to do. For those who are curious, there is a small button on the unit that disables the "security" feature. It's something I do all the time when I'm starting my lawnmower without a battery because I haven't bought one yet. You're good to go as long as you're sure what you're trying to start is connected correctly, with the positive and negative wires connected correctly and not touching. br>br>UPDATE*** I purchased this in July of 2018 and it worked perfectly. I kept it inside my house, charged it once a month, and only used it a few times. It still looks brand new. I took it out of the box the other day to use it, and the lights flashed before turning off. I contacted the manufacturer who told me it was out of warranty for a couple of months so I have to pay 45% of the msrp for them to refurb it on t I bought a Stanley for $100 five years ago, and it still works perfectly. If you spend $300 to $500 on a jump box, it SHOULD come with a better warranty. They don't stand behind their products, so do yourself a favor and look for something else; there are several for less or about the same price that come with a great warranty. Even if it would have happened within the year according to the email i sent there are many stipulations that would still result in not fixing it or charging the 45% msrp to This is the first and only one-star review I've ever given on any product, and I'm not taking it lightly, but I'm hoping to prevent someone else from being duped as I was! No more overseas crap unless it comes with a fantastic warranty, I've learned.
br>I've been using standard 50-pound jump starters for years, and they've usually, but not always, performed adequately and reliably. I've had a failing " battery saver module " in my 2007 Ford F350 CrewCab 4x4 6 for the past two years. Pickup truck with a 0 horsepower diesel engine. The battery saver module kicks in when the outside temperature drops below 60 to 50 degrees Fahrenheit. When the days get cooler and the BSM kicks in, my truck's batteries are completely depleted in about two days while it sits idle. My standard jump box was no longer charging sufficiently to jump start my truck from a dead stop, and it finally failed about two weeks ago, despite being fully charged. After doing some research on these types of jump starters and reading a lot of reviews for various brands and sizes of these jump boxes, I wasn't convinced that they could or would work as the manufacturers claim. I chose the NOCO GB150 because of the following reasons:
1. They're a manufacturer from the United States of America.
2. because they've been making vehicle assistive devices for a long time and have a good reputation.
3. because their machines aren't designed around gimmicky add-ons like tire inflators, laser lights, compasses, radios, mini winches, and so on. It's just a solid jump box housed in a sturdy, high-quality housing with a useful, high-quality LED headlight and a few USB and charger adapter plugs, and that's it.
4. It appears to have more overall safety features than other comparable brands, and it is rated for much larger engines, which I did not find in any other brand.
5. In comparison to other brand boxes, the NOCO GB150 and its parts, such as cables and post clamps, appear to be of solid, professional quality. br>After opening the box and inspecting it, I believe this is a well-made product with no cheap or flimsy parts. It took about 12 hours to fully charge it out of the box, as recommended in the user manual. I went out to my truck the next afternoon to start it up. It was around 3 p. m. , with a high of 75 degrees in the afternoon and a low of 49 to 53 degrees overnight. My truck had been sitting without being started for 12 days, and the batteries were completely dead. I screwed on the post clamps, waited a minute, and then turned on the ignition. There was no lag, no hesitation as the engine started up quickly. I went into town to do some errands and chores, stopping several times throughout the afternoon. The following afternoon, I jumped my truck five more times. I checked the box when I got home and the charge indicator gauge showed the box STILL 100% at 100% at 100% at 100% at 100% at 100% at 100% at 100% at 100% at 10 I stowed the box on the passenger side of the floor until I needed it again. I went out two days later and jumped my truck for the first time that morning, as well as four more times that day. I checked the box when I got home and the charge indicator gauge showed 75% the charge at 75% the charge at 75% the charge at 75% the charge at 75% the charge at 75% the Consider it for a moment. My six was jumped. 0 diesel 11 times over the course of four days without recharging this box, and it only used about 1/4 of the charge. That's incredible. br>After reading the reviews, the only reservation I had was that Aside from the fact that this box does exactly what the manufacturers promised - Several customers complained that the power supply (battery pack) failed prematurely. This complaint was mentioned in only about 3 or 4 reviews. In contrast, this box received hundreds of 4 and 5 star reviews, none of which mentioned the box's short lifespan or other issues. There were also a few follow-up reviews from guys who had purchased the box more than a year or more before and talked about how the box was still performing as expected. br>It's also worth noting that if the battery pack fails, NOCO states in its user manual that it will rebuild the box if the owner sends it in for service. br>In conclusion, I strongly advise you to purchase this box or one of its smaller versions. NOCO, in my opinion, makes the highest-quality boxes and, based on other reviews, also has a responsive Customer Assistance department, which is critical given that these jump boxes are not disposable. This jump box can be purchased for a reasonable price. 5 STARS !.
It used to be one of my favorites, but now it is one of my least favorites. It worked well until it stopped boosting anything, at which point I returned it and ordered another. I'm outside my return window now because the second one has stopped jumping anything. You've got to be kidding! Hundreds of dollars have been thrown out the window. My $69. After a year, the 00 booster is still working. It's been since September 2017 that I've had this thing, and it's now January 2018. For hundreds of dollars in less than four months! It's incredible.
