Questions & Answers

Is it possible to use this with a Group 25 battery?

Yes, but it's a tad too large for it. Perfectly suited to a 34

How big is the box on the inside?

I'm not sure, but those appear to be inside measurements. It can fit a large battery inside. I recently broke my wrist in three places, so I won't be able to measure it right now, but if you're still interested, I'll be able to do so in a few days.

Is a group 34 battery compatible with it?

I put a 27 in, but a 34 should be fine.

What are the maximum load weights that are considered safe to work with? When installed vertically, will this unit be able to support 80 pounds?

If properly installed, it has the potential to

But, while I'm pleased with it, It does not appear to be exactly as depicted in the photograph

Moreover, the image is deceiving. br>br>On mine, the box's vertical back was not solid; Rather, it was a two-pronged approach. a one-inch-wide piece that connects the two sides A half-inch tall lip runs along the front edge, which is a nice touch that will keep the battery in the box. The hold down rods, contrary to appearances, are not welded in place. That is something I will have to do. br>br>The holes vary in size, with some being significantly smaller and others significantly larger than those depicted in the photos. The support pieces on the sides are also a little smaller. Overall, I have a welder and can make this work, but if you're looking for a ready-to-install piece, look elsewhere.

A fantastic purchase! I looked at every battery tray in existence before settling on these
5/5

I purchased two of these for use in a show car's trunk-mounted batteries. I would highly recommend these to my fellow Hot Rodders who are tired of cheap flimsy over-the-top over-the-top over-the-top over-the-top over-the-top over-the-top over-the-top over-the-top over-top over-top over-top over-top over-top over-top over-top over-top over-top over-top over Battery restraints at a reasonable price.

Thank you for your time and consideration
5/5

I absolutely love this product, but I had to make some modifications for my project because it wasn't expected to be perfect for what I'm doing. The building is in excellent condition. I was hoping to put a Ford 65 series battery in it, but it won't fit; however, it does fit an optimal battery perfectly.

A protective oily coating is applied to good welds
5/5

It's built to hold a big battery, so it's built to last. It is protected by an oily layer. Once the oil has been removed, the metal is ready to be painted. It'll turn out beautifully.

When purchasing it, keep in mind the holes
3/5

I couldn't figure out where the mounting points were. There are no obvious mounting options because the holes behind the battery are far too large for any type of screw, bolt, or washer. For the screws, I needed to drill a new hole. Whatever the case may be, I was able to mount it.

Well-built with a modern design
5/5

I'd heard that the battery hold-down hardware would have to be welded on. It appears that the design has been updated. They should change the photo on this page. Yes, as others have mentioned, the backing is perforated with three holes (looks more racecar, which I like). The angle bar and nuts are still used for the hold downs, but the two studs are bent just before the end and have a large flat head on that end. Now that the bolts are in place, the battery tray has three small holes. The battery angle bar is held together by the flat head of the bolts, which eliminates the need for welding. br>br>Anyway, it's well-made and square, and it fit perfectly on my HF trailer.

This battery mount is fantastic
5/5

I've made battery boxes and hold downs for a variety of projects, but I didn't have the time to do so for this one, so I ordered this battery mount instead. It's well-made and durable. br> br>I bent the top overhang ears on both sides to lie flat with a piece of flat strap, then attached the bottom with a piece of flat strap. br>I also did not use the supplied hold down, instead cutting and drilling a piece of flat strap and painting it with plastic paint. br>This product saved me time and is extremely effective.

This is fantastic
5/5

Replaced the battery box on and it worked perfectly. This is fantastic. On a classic jeep, it worked perfectly as a replacement battery box. The original had rusted away to the point where it could no longer be used. To flush mount it to the firewall, I trimmed off the top ears and welded on a few tabs.
