Questions & Answers

Does this have a high gloss finish?

Glossy products take advantage of it, but it isn't a high gloss

How high of a yield do you see here? Does it mean that it will Are you able to be somewhat flexible while still being on the ball?

While I have no idea what you mean by high yield, I do know that it does not build up quickly, and it is highly

When it comes to scratch resistance, especially for interior trim, is this product up to the job?

I like this stuff a lot. It is of a professional standard. The faded bumpers and trim on my Explorer were painted, and almost a year later, none of the parts have faded or been scratched.

Is it possible to use the sem bumper coater on the inside of doors after some deterioration appeared on them [74 Dodge Dart] and on the interior hard plastic parts?

Yes, it is. * Pour any all-purpose cleaner over the surface and let it To clean your panels, use isopropyl alcohol or wax and wipe them down Spray grease remover on the surface and allow to Spray several light coats of SEM, letting each coat dry between coats, until you achieve the desired coverage. In most cases, the bumper coater sticks very well to vinyl and hard plastic and no primer is needed. There is no rattle can paint that dries quicker or performs better for me than this.

Are you looking for a way to restore the new look to your old Jeep? You've come to the right place! My wife and I own a 2008 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited that is black with a black hard top
5/5

I noticed that all the trim (front to rear bumpers, side steps, hood latches, door handles, fuel cap, etc. ) that used to be black had faded to a yucky gray. Besides Armorall (it didn't seem to do much better, and faded away in no time) we tried a couple of other sealants/restorers. A company that developed a bumper coating paint designed to match the appearance of original equipment manufacturers). It received good ratings, so I decided to give this to my wife (who almost exclusively drives a Jeep) for Mother's Day. Please allow me to Basically there are three parts to this. First, you scrub and clean the parts that need to be restored. Next, you apply SEM Plastic and Leather Prep after masking off the areas you do not wish to paint. Last but not least, you use SEM's bumper coater. Amazing! I have only one word to describe it This job required a lot of work. You had to follow each step in the correct order and follow the instructions. I also applied multiple coats of bumper paint (in addition). I am so glad we made the effort. Many people have asked when we bought our There is no need to change anything. Not at all. She did not. While I can't comment on long term durability, for now, it still looks as good as the day I completed this project. Previously, we talked to a few body shops about the trim appearance, and were quoted between $1,500 and nearly $2k for a repair. The cost of that was definitely out of our reach! For me, it was masking off possible overspray areas that proved most challenging. To mask the rear bumper area, for example, it took me a few hours. Although I was nervous, I decided to give it my very best shot before tackling the job. The sheer joy on my wife's face when she saw it was totally worth it! It might seem like a little effort, but if you have the time, and don't mind getting your hands dirty, I think you'll.

The preparation process
5/5

Perfect for cars with exterior black plastic trim that has faded over time. As a result, it comes out thinner than black trim With this paint, the texture is a lot finer that produces an OEM plastic look that does not require plastic prep.

Preparation The directions on the back of the can explain how to use the product. Six very thin coats were applied to the parts in the photos. Make sure to spray every crevice.

I really like this! even begin to explain how impressed I am with this product
5/5

The finish is very nice and replicates what I would expect from a factory. For years I have painted the interior of my Jeep with it. The finish of another cheap paint was greasy and heavy when it dried, and I wasn't happy with it. The color is exceptional, it dries nicely, it lays down well, and it is extremely durable. am sorry that it's so expensive, but as soon as you see the results, I understand why it's so costly. My best bet is to go to Amazon. It's also the cheapest place I could find this item. Shipping was crazy at other sites, and the price of the item was $20 at the box store. If you have faded plastic, and are trying to restore the factory appearance, I would definitely recommend this product.

The spoiler was scraped
5/5

It has been fixed now! My matte black lip spoiler on the front of my car needed a touch up, so I bought this to replace it. As a result of its scrape on the pavement, the spoiler's black finish had been removed. As I only needed to repair a small area and wanted to avoid masking a large area or removing the spoiler, I applied Bumper Coater to the sanded area with a foam brush (after spraying the product into a cup). With this method, the bumper conditioner applied smoothly, and it gave me a few minutes to work with it before it began setting. Light sanding marks can be filled with a thin layer The second coat could have built more, but I only applied two. Once I looked at the picture, I thought, "Oh shoot!". A moment when the spoiler is scraped across something that does not even stand out when viewing it from a distance.

We had high expectations, but were ultimately disappointed
3/5

A defective can is most likely to be the issue. I am so upset about this one because I was planning on adding a lip to it and some side skirts along with it. All the pieces had been sanded down with 300 grit over the past week It is estimated that 600 individuals will take part As preparation for painting, this is sanded down to 1000 grit. It is crucial that the can be shaken well and then held upside down and sprayed in order to clear the nozzle of any sputtering, as instructed in the directions. Oh boy, there was a lot of As a sign of good things to come, I turned the can back over and held the nozzle until it sprayed cleanly, then turned the can over again to ensure there was no sputtering. It seemed to be okay. My first light coat has been sprayed. The sprayer was on pretty well for about half the lip. I tried to avoid holding the sprayer down too long, and I kept the sprayer mostly parallel to the ground while spraying. After that, the sputters began. There is a lot of black paint on the wall. It's time to sand again. Another ten minutes later I dried it and sanded it until it looked completely smooth. Then I repeated the same process to ensure there were no unwanted sputters during the testing. I figured it must have been a fluke the first time. I went back to re-check my work when I was satisfied The first coat should be applied. I succeeded in getting my first coat! Waiting for the drying to be completed. The spray needs to be tested. The second coat has huge sputters a quarter of the way into it. There's nothing to be happy about. It is a good idea to sand the entire lip. It repeated, with the sputters getting worse as they went. The can could have been shaken and the nozzle could have been clear but it didn't matter. There was nothing more it wanted than My efforts to troubleshoot the product ended up wasting approximately three hours, and I ended up using some backup spray paint from a different brand that sprayed fine on While I am willing to give it the benefit of the doubt and figure it was a defective can, I am still disappointed since I could tell from the first coat that the paint was of quality.
