Questions & Answers

In order to paint 4 motorcycle brake pads, how much paint or cans do I need?

It took one can of caliber paint to paint all four of my truck calibers, and I had 3/4 left after I used two coats. One can will be enough for the whole family.

A primer doesn't seem to be used very often. Is this going to hold up if there is no primer on it?

The primer I used was for my project. The piece has stood the test of time well but has only been there for a short time. The end result turned out much better as a result

Would you be able to make these in sky blue or baby blue?

It does not seem to be the case

Do you get everything you need when you buy this. Are you referring to a paint brush or an activator?

A can of paint and no brush are all that is needed. It is not necessary to use Use a primer if you want to achieve good results.

I did not follow The latest report on the past 3 years is as follows There is still an excellent finish to the paint
5/5

Even after being cleaned with caustic wheel cleaner to remove brake dust, the product still performed exceptionally well. ** Update** (Last 2 photos) The paint on the calipers is still holding up well and the paint on the door handles is still in great shape. The original review was as follows I did not have the time to properly prepare or paint my calipers due to time constraints. And yet, the results were incredible! Having to lift a wheel at a time and work on the car late at night, I had to place the car on a stand. I would not have been able to utilize epoxy systems for my purposes by itself. Below is a list of tools and materials you will need p>1. Brake cleaner/p> 2. 2. Brushes (small and large) with wire. 3. A masking tape for 4. A small knife with a blade diameter of 5. X-acto knives *6. *7 inch brush with a diameter of 12 inches. In the past I have used metal preps, rust reformers, and "degreasers" to remove rust from calipers but have not used foam brushes (not happy with the results). For me, it was through trial and error that I discovered that the paint worked best when brushed thickly. The self-healing qualities of this formula are profound, even just a few drops suffice I was impressed with how well it leveled and covered. It took almost no time for brush marks to disappear. Painting the metal was super easy and the paint stuck to the metal perfectly. As a result, pins, rubber seals, motors and moving parts were not covered. The first time I used the caliper, I used the foam brush, as other reviews suggested. In my case, it did not work well. The second coat looked “OK,” but I still wanted it to look better than the rest of the calipers. I used a heat gun on the first coat to reduce cure time, but the second coat did not look as good as the other I totally skipped the second coat with the rest. Before I installed the anti-skid coating, I applied a thick coat and waited for about 8 hours It is also painted (to make it more realistic). I was impressed with how well the calipers turned out, considering there were no proper preparations and the paint was rushed. An even thin and glossy coating covers the entire surface. It will be kept under observation as far as durability is concerned. There are still over 90% of the contents in the can. That means that if the results don't last, I'll do a better job next time.
Update I painted my house about two months ago, and it is still gorgeous and holding up well. I have also found calipers to be very easy to wash and generally stay clean. When I consider that BMW's wheels and brake calipers are infamous for having black dust on them, this is amazing! The latest update It looks the same as when all of the calipers and rattle springs were just painted nine months ago. It is amazing how well the calipers looked seven months after they were painted. This particular picture is one of the close-up pictures taken after the calipers had been It was important to me to take pictures periodically to cancel out any placebo effect and to have objective materials to compare. I have updated you with the following information Images with circles and arrows in red were taken more than a year after the initial These were a few chips that I got while mounting a BMW wheel. There were no studs(
The paint held up extremely well and a quick cleaning and touch up (5 minutes per wheel) brought it back to its former glory. It was almost as if the leftover paint in the can didn't need It is still an absolutely flawless black that sticks perfectly and covers We wish you the best of luck with your mods and if you found this review useful, please click "helpful" so others won't waste their time reading and will make the wise decision as.

It takes a small can to get a nice glossy finish, but it goes a long way
5/5

The best way to complete this task would be to get a couple of sets of hobby brushes. This little 1/2-inch brush worked perfectly, though you might want to use a smaller one for areas that require even more detail. As well as offering some suggestions, I have a couple more. It's a good idea to consider all these points ***** - Firstly, you need to be aware of how toxic this stuff really is. Always wear long sleeves and medical gloves, and prevent exposure to people and animals that are not well ventilated (outside). Those are isocyanates in this stuff, and it's not a joke. Keep the liquid from touching your skin and keep out of It should be fine without a respirator if you are doing it outside and not sniffing the can. There is no need to fear this paint, use common sense and you'll be fine. Just remember that this isn't regular paint, it contains isocyanates which are quite hazardous. Be sure to do your research and to The *br- As you are starting a TWO DAY JOB to paint your calipers, be prepared for that if you want a good job. The *br- Do not hang the brake calipers from the brake lines, as this may damage the flexible ones. Don't forget to get some heavy-duty stuff It is best to use heavy-duty wire or coat hangers for hanging your calipers if you are not intending to removal them The paint needs to cure, so they will need to hang while it sets. The *br- Mineral spirits are a must to keep on hand for cleanup, since you don't want to be without them in case of a mistake. As long as you don't intend to throw your brushes away between coats, you will need it to clean them as well. The *br- When it comes to washing, waxing, and sealing your car's paint, just take my advice. I am glad I did it and I will explain Should you have any questions about Klasse sealer, I use it. The *br- My car was brand new, so I prepped properly with brake cleaner and a wire brush (even though it needed to use just one). Make sure to include the following You MUST keep your brake grease clean if your brakes are in good condition. Then use carb cleaner to finish off. There must be no traces of oils left behind. Take care of your skin and eyes! The *br- Mask off all the spots where you DO NOT want this stuff to go. Do not use it on the surfaces of your brake rotors. It's best to keep those surfaces clean, do not let paint or oils settle on them. As a result, it will embed itself into your brake pads later and reduce efficiency, as well as cause surging. The *br- Before you paint, prepare your metal with POR 15 Metal Prep. I encourage you to not skip this step. On Amazon, you can order the entire kit or order the parts separately. It was not necessary for me to buy the kit because I wanted to use The *br- During the application of paint, if you see fisheyes or spots where the paint seems to be slipping away from, stop, then clean, and repeat. It is the oil that you should avoid The *br- Small brushes are useful for applying the paint coats should be moderately heavy. You can apply it looking kind of bad when you do, but if you apply a thick enough final coat, it will level out and become glossy. It is possible to apply a first coat somewhat thinly, but for the second and final coat you should apply them moderately heavy (without The *br- You should let the first coat cure for at least 12 hours before applying the second. It is best to wait for at least 12 hours before you attempt to put everything back together. There will still be some softness to the paint, so it needs to be handled gently. As a result of being in warm weather for so many days, it eventually becomes rock hard. There was no time frame I was paying attention to so I did not know how long it went on. The *br- The tiny can may fool you, but don't believe it. Although there is only 1 cup of paint, I was concerned that it wouldn't be nearly enough. However, I will easily paint four large calipers, plus I will have a lot Lastly, I would like to add a
At some point when I was working on my calipers, I unknowingly grabbed my car's fender with my paint-covered gloves and did not realize it for about half an I freaked out because I just bought a brand new car. It's a good thing the paint sealer didn't let it go bad. With a little mineral spirits and a microfiber cloth, you can easily remove it. I do not know if the same outcome would have occurred if the wax and seal had not been applied, or if it had been left on over night. It's best to be prepared for anything. You can buy the safety equipment for less than $5. followed the instructions and applied 2 coats (after prepping), letting it cure in between coats for 18 hours. On top of that, I also took care of all the exposed surfaces on all four rotors and still had about This little can serves as a good solution for all four calipers on 2 cars. The material I used for rolling around under my car and to touch up the chips on the chassis and suspension particularly came in handy. In the event that you rush this job, it could not turn out as well as you wish. It will take a while for the stuff to As long as you follow the steps and do the prep work, you'll be pleased with this. I wish you the best of.

A look back over the past year
5/5

This is an awesome caliper paint! It took almost a year for me to review the paint to find out how well it held up -- and I can honestly say it looks almost as good as the day it was painted. It took me less than an hour to remove the calipers. A cheap paint brush I purchased from that freight store was all I had. There have been many comments stating that this paint is very thick and tacks up very fast. As a result, it is best to move forward in a certain direction and not to go back over anything that has become As I applied it, I applied it fairly wet and thick. It would be easy for me to do two vehicles with this As it is more of an aesthetic issue, you should not remove the caliper unless you are a terrible painter who wants the painting to be as near perfect as possible. Be sure to keep a good rag near you during painting. If you are painting with a caliper in place, park in the shade, lay a towel or similar thing under the area to catch drips, wear latex gloves, and wear clothes that you can There was an illustration on the side of a Dodge Durango from 2012. Her life is full of joy as she is stoked about what a great husband she has.
