Questions & Answers
On the pitch, it's extremely effective. and in a timely manner.
Yes. It's sodium hydroxide (also known as lye or caustic soda), which is the same as old-fashioned oven cleaner. It is capable of dissolving most organic matter, including the user. Goggles and gloves must be worn at all times.
This product should never be used on a vehicle. It's designed to clean saw blades of pitch. Like a stripper, it will eat away at your paint.
I'm not sure, but I'd spray it on the bottom of your shoe to remove the pitch, then wash the bottom of the shoe with soap and warm water afterward.

I wasn't expecting a product that works in the same way as oven cleaner. It's probably my fault for failing to notice that "DANGER - Near the bottom of the can, there's a label that says "CORROSIVE. " I was hoping for a solvent-based product rather than something as unpleasant as lye. I'm sure it'll work fine, but I could have just bought an inexpensive can of oven cleaner instead. If you use this product or a less expensive oven cleaner, be sure to follow these safety precautions: Wear rubber gloves and use it outside, preferably near a water hose. Protect your eyes by wearing sunglasses. Inhaling fumes is a no-no, and getting them on your skin is even worse. Spraying it on aluminum is not a good idea. Unless you want to create hydrogen gas by etching the aluminum. I have a 2" deep plastic tray in which I'll clean the blades. I'll let the lye do its thing and scrub the blade teeth with a stiff toothbrush if necessary. After that, give everything a good rinse with plenty of water. br>br>While other reviewers have rated this as a five-star product, I'm only giving it three stars because of the following reasons:
1. inadequate warnings in the product description about this product's caustic naturebr>2. It's basically oven cleaner that's been overpricedbr>3. The instructions that say to spray it on and wipe it off with a paper towel or wet sponge are just plain stupid, because doing so without wearing rubber gloves isn't a good idea.
It did such an excellent job that I decided to see what else it could do. When I attempted to clean my air compressor with this product, I discovered that it dissolves paint. Oops. That is something I will not do in the future. That's what happens when you don't read the directions, I suppose. But I was curious if it would clean my stainless steel BBQ grates, as nothing else I tried, no matter how hard I scrubbed, seemed to work. So, to my surprise, it cleaned them to near-new condition with little effort and in a short amount of time; thank you, Sprayway creators! Next time I clean my grill, I'll take some pictures so you can see the difference.
Saws are not inexpensive. br>I keep my blades clean to see if it works and to save money for my friends.
The product cleans your blades, but the nozzle clogs up every time, which I can clear by soaking it in warm water, but it jams again after a few squirts.
It works great and, as you can see in the photo, it gets rid of everything. Follow the product's instructions carefully because it is extremely caustic. This product should not be inhaled; instead, it should be used downwind. br>There is no need to scrub; everything just wipes away.
sprays that are not too long Now I'm stuck with an empty can that I can't use or return. If I had the option, I would give it a zero rating.
It does exactly what it says on the tin. I had no idea my saw blades were so clogged with filth. When you use your circular saw and notice smoke, it's time to clean the blades. After hours of use, this stuff dissolved all the wood sap and other debris that had accumulated on your blade. Sprayway Saw Cleaner is a must have.
It's one of the most effective pitch removers I've ever used on saw blades.
