This is a purchase you shouldn't miss. A totally new look has been given to my car. Applications were easy to fill out.
As I painted the first coat, I had them leaned against a wall resulting in It was my fault for not checking the Superwrap video tutorials before attempting to find random video clips.
*I like the ease of application. *I dislike the fact that the product wore out quickly and chipped.
As soon as I got home from work Friday, I started prepping and cleaning the wheels. Allow them to sit over night to be ready to paint the next day. The prep spray made everything very smooth and easy to apply. The instructions in and of themselves were perfect. The product is already high gloss, but I purchased the clear high gloss versions so that I can better protect my investment. I'm so glad I found this product! Please let me post pictures if you allow me to do so. The larger wheel kit was also purchased to do all the emblems, trim, and the This is a product that I would HIGHLY recommend to anyone.
Directions are easy to follow, the product is easy to apply. Afterwards I applied the final clear coat per directions and spent an entire afternoon applying product according to the instructions. We cleaned and dried the wheels, and then I went the extra step of scuffing the surface for better adhesion with a scotch brite pad. After hand washing my truck, I had to replace the product. The photo shows the results. The results on the rims were not great, as can be expected.
The instructions were very clear and I watched numerous videos on how to do it. I cleaned my rims thoroughly, applied a light first coat, waited 15 minutes, and then applied the wet coat. In fact, the grey basecoat was very simple to apply, and looked fantastic, and for a minute I seriously considered leaving the wheels that way. As a result, I now wish I would have subbed for rose gold. The rose gold color is almost a completely different experience when it comes to application. There are almost as many cans as one needs for the bright color in the picture. It's almost like a nearly transparent rose gold glitter, rather than a paint. It was still apparent that the grey had not disappeared. I couldn't help but notice the rose gold streak on every wheel, no matter how light my coats were. Similarly, I did it the same way I did the gray and had no runs with it. I am so unhappy with the rose gold, that I will be removing it and replacing it with Although I love the concept behind the rose gold color, I feel that a more metallic pink base would have drastically altered the overall appearance of the project.
It is easy, but it takes a long time to complete. It took me all day to do 10 coats. It wasn't the easiest thing in the world to spread out of a rattle can but I managed it. I've been driving for less than a week and had to touch up a lip on one of the We'll see if it survives a car wash. I have not washed my car yet.
This is my first time painting rims and I am impressed at how nice they Spray painting is an easy task, but you will definitely need some skills to use this product. It was while they were still attached to the truck that I worked on them. The paint did not run. Due to my work schedule, I was pressed for time, so that is not a method I recommend. You should find that your work lasts for a while if you follow instructions to a T. It has been my experience that spraywrap looks better after priming with matte black first. A nice finished product will be yours if you take your time.
