The 1962 F100 had this, and it looked great and operated smoothly.
Although it's not physically glowing, the light it emits is just bright enough to give it the appearance of glowing.
The needles are not illuminated, so it doesn't work. Needles painted with needle paint do not illuminate as frequently as newer needles.

It was a bright orange paint that I bought from Testors originally. The color I intended to use wasn't the one I achieved. The Testors were thin, according to a number of people. The paint also seemed to be the right color for me, so I bought it. There is a huge difference between the color of the original and the one here. The paint is still very thin, but the orange is now a darker orange. You will probably need to apply 5 coats to get it covered nicely, but it will look great when you are done.
Become a smart shopper and stay away from being scammed like I was. As soon as I received the order, I noticed it was only for a quarter of what I paid for. It is a 5oz bottle, not a 1oz one as Despite my attempts to return the product, the cost to ship back was more than the cost of the product. Beware of my mistake and learn from it!.
Shipping was quick for the product. Other people have commented that the bottle broke, but I had no problems with it. Place the plastic bag in the shaker and shake well. You do need to keep in mind there is a metal ball and the container is glass, but you can do it Put the paint on smooth when it is dry. Do not let it become too runny or too I found the brush to be the right size for the task I was assigned. A 76' cluster of F250 gauge needles was repainted from top to bottom. My paintwork worked well with the speedometer needle (which I didn't.
Each time I purchase needle paint from a different vendor, this is my third purchase. In my experience, I always obtain a deeper neon orange, not what is pictured, when trying to get an OEM orange for my older vehicles. The work was done, and it was fine. For the first time when you use this stuff, shake it up real hard, then vacuum the brush after applying it, so that it works perfectly. The first time I tried it, it was a little thick because I didn't shake it enough.
To paint vintage Mercedes instrument needles, I ordered this paint. I like that it's easy to apply, that it covers well, and that it's bright - Even after shaking the bottle for a few minutes, the color is still too bright. The color on the right isn't even close to the one on the left. My plastic bottle only contains an ounce, so it's a good thing I don't need the entire quantity.
The application process is made simple because it's extremely thin. It was used to switch from a white to an orange needle. A double coat was necessary. We're very happy with it.
I really like the finish on the paint, even though it's a little bright. Applicants have an easy time applying. Masking is easy and quick because it dries fast. You can apply your product by inserting a piece of card stock under the needle and against the needle stops.
