Paint is what I do Only the appearance of the calipers is improved by this fix

What color is this? Is it a bright yellow, or is it more of an ?

My opinion is that the yellow is darker than the picture but I don't feel that it is a dark, orangey This was a perfect match for my Michigan sticker, which was blue and maize. The color of the block M and some of the other results from the Google image search of "maize and blue" is the color of the block and the color of the block.

It would be great if you could tell me if any prep work or primer is required for installing this on my new car's calipers. If it has dried, have you sprayed it with a clear coat?

After the calipers have been cleaned with brake cleaner, they should be reassembled. To ensure better adhesion, you lightly sand the surfaces with a fine grade sandpaper. It's not primer and it's not coating An extra coat of clear is not necessary. After drying, the enamel becomes very shiny and hard This is what finish looks like.

How bright and yellow is this? Is it a golden orange or a golden I am looking for one that matches the black and yellow California license ?

I love its bright yellow color! A year after being painted, it looks as if it were

It's as close as you can get There are many types of coating available in cans
4/5

As a quick aside, I'd like to say that this is not the easiest product Although it can be challenging to apply correctly, if you take the time to prepare and buy the right brushes, you can achieve a powder-like effect as rapidly as possible. As good as you can get when it comes to coatings. This kit uses two part epoxy instead of paint, which is very uncommon with other caliper paint kits. As someone who worked as a painter in college, whose job required that we often used epoxy on commercial floors, I can tell you that epoxy is very durable and able to withstand the heat that This kit comes with a colored base (I chose yellow for Porsche calipers), a very small glass bottle containing the activator, a can of brake cleaner, and a horrible brush where the color will be applied. You need to use very clean calipers if you want a good bond. A small wire brush will help break up the really hard brake residue, so I recommend purchasing at least one can of brake cleaner and a wire brush. If you really want to clean the calipers, sanding them with 150 grit sandpaper wouldn't hurt either. Spray, scrub, and sand after which you should tape up anything you do not want epoxy to touch (rotors, bleeder screws, lines, wires, etc. ). An epoxy bond is permanent and extremely difficult to remove (useful hint If you put rubber in acetone, it will melt rubber can be removed with acetone and rubber can be melted with Almost everything is ready to be applied, but you need to get the right I can't figure out how to work with the brush in the kit, it is far too small, sheds bristles, and it's stiff as a board. If you want to use calipers with this paint brush kit, I strongly recommend buying it In a nutshell.

This isn't enough to cover 4 calipers unless it's a pair of scooters like Thomas
3/5

My 3rd car has had to be repeated 3 times, which means I've had to buy a second kit each time. In the first case, a BMW Z4 was red with two A BMW X5, with blue = 2 kits, came second. I'm currently working on a yellow BMW 335i that needs three kits at a My compulsive side kicked in, so I removed the brake calipers, wire brushed them, scrubbed them with an abrasive pad and soap, wire brushed them again, ran them in the dishwasher, and used brake cleaner to get the oils and bits off. It is quite clear that the first coat was translucent in the pictures. Those two photos are incremental and show how well the product adheres to calipers as I apply additional coats of the product. The final photo shows the calipers after six hours of work, after I used a heat gun and trimmed off the drips and overpainting. It's not ideal for me to get these results.

I am not inclined to do so. In the advertisement, it mentions the supplied product will cover four calipers, so I expect this to be the case. There is no such thing. The distance isn't close at all. It would have been cheaper to have the calipers powder coated than to paint them. The second kit will be returned since I do not wish to purchase a 3rd. I spent more than $180 and 18 hours to paint 4 calipers, so powder coating would have been less expensive. It has taken time for me to "Mis-identify"s three times, considering I was misled three times Normally you'd remember the quantities but this is the last time.

Obtain high temperature aerosol and accomplish the same task in 25% of the time, and become capable of conducting a touch test to assess its efficacy There is a can remnant at the bottom of the bowl. In this kit, there's nothing you can touch up with, since it turns to solid at the end of working time.

It's a product I enjoy, and others have reported having great success with
5/5

In addition to liking this product, others have had good results with it as well. However, I will point out that you will need a lot more if you are going to do yellow over black (or other dark colors). The Corvette Grand Sport I covered had black calipers and it took two full containers to cover the black evenly without showing any of the black You need patience with this product, as it does level itself as time passes. The first coat might seem like it doesn't look good at all, but it will improve with time. Make sure to follow the directions and you will be pleased with the result.

It took an awfully long time
4/5

Since it has been on for a couple of weeks, the installation has looked great. In fact, it took 5 coats and 4 hrs to finish the project. The preparation took one hour and the painting took three solid hours. Changing calipers from one to the next. Water colors began to appear as though they were being painted. It wasn't until the 4th coat that it really started to cover, and the paint was thicker. The paint went stringy and gooey during the sixth coat and would have benefited from one more. As I write this, it was 80° in Arizona. A 90° angle. Unfortunately, the first and second coats failed to live up to expectations. In the unlikely event that it does not fade and stays shiny then it was worth the money. There is no telling what will happen. My cars are more durable and last longer when painted with caliper paint. I use it with far fewer coats because it is far cheaper. It remains to be seen how the final opinion will turn.

I thought that this was a tedious, but great product
5/5

It takes a lot of time and effort to create this. Make sure to prep the calipers very well for best results. In the beginning, I degreased with a brush and degreaser, and then I cleaned with The paint must be completely dry before it can be applied. By looking at the can of paint, I would think that I wouldn't get much paint out of it, but it was enough to cover the toy eight times. For cars with large brake calipers, like my BMW 335i, this is sufficient. You should take your time, it would be a lot simpler if you could remove the brake calipers completely. Even removing the rotors and leaving them on the bracket made it more complicated. Let the paint sit for at least 20 minutes between coats to ensure a great, bright yellow paint that's level.
