Yes, that is the case. Using a fluid like this for the Allison seems to be the best choice.

What would happen if you put this into a 2004 Dodge ?

Although this is specifically designed for Allison transmissions such as the ones found on trucks from GMC and Chevrolet, I see no reason it shouldn't work. If it were me, I would not put it in a Dodge transmission.

I have an 07 lbz with a 6 speed Allison. Does this fluid work on it?

Take the old magnet and use it. Follow this pattern for 1,000 miles, then If you are doing a rebuild on your system, you will not need to replace the internal filter. On a Duramax forum, I learned that. Make sure that you are sure. Before installing the external filter, be sure to fill it up with water. There is a need for one gallon for every two gallons purchased. This is a 7 gallon bucket. For those who are interested in more insight into this, I can't stress enough the importance of reading the Duramax forum. You are in my best wishes. This is a great combination of OH and Transynd. The transmission shifts well, runs cooler, and I am happy with it.

In the case of the Duramax transmission, Allison recommends this system. There didn't seem to be any auto parts stores in my area that had it.

It was made just for Allison's. In fact, the fluid I bought along with it (5gallons to be exact) was the first one to arrive. You might also want to try the 2 1/2qts 5w-f By the speed sensor, 30 units are filled.

As a result, I went with this fluid for Allison. I know that there is a ts668 or tes648 fluid available, but it was hard to find. This 2010 Sierra 2500 appears to shift fine and dandy.
