Questions & Answers

How do I choose the correct CVT fluid for my Approximately how much water does it take to drain and change the tank?

Having drained and refilled my 2011 Nissan Rogue (base model FWD) at 35000 miles was a great experience. When hot, 5 quarts of paint were needed to reach level at the bottom of the hatch mark. To make 1/4 of an ounce, you will need 8 ounces To raise the level by a tad more, add a third of a quart more. A little over 35000 miles mostly in cities, the fluid turned out very dark, almost black. Generally, a cvt transmission should be serviced at 30000 miles (for severe driving) to ensure that it is in good working order.

Has anyone bought these Nissan cvt ns2 fluid bottles? Under the plastic cover for each bottle is there a silver lid? Does it have a lid or not?

thought it came with a lid, but one thing I noticed is the fluid is green,

What is the capacity of the legacy transmission network in Suburu ?

Unfortunately, I don't know what to say

This is an outrageously priced product, yet it is a great product
5/5

I want to give this a zero star rating due to Nissan's monopoly on In parallel, just how outrageously expensive this is for a system that must have its fluid changed twice as often as regular automatic transmissions. As of the date I am posting this Honda is offering their transmission fluid at HALF the cost of this product. But if you own a Nissan you MUST use this product. Forget voiding your warranty, this product was specially formulated for Nissans. It will save you from excessive wear and tear or the failure of your transmission. I own a used 2011 Altima that has just passed 60k miles and had a problem with clutch slippage between gears that I thought was normal as a first-time CVT owner. When I replaced the fluid myself, I found that there were no metallic particles in the old fluid, but was saddened to find that it had been burned up, and should have been replaced many thousands of miles prior. In the time since I have put 5 fresh quarts in, I am truly impressed by how much smoother the transmission runs (I genuinely wasn't expecting a difference, I was satisfied with my performance and purchased this strictly out of necessity to follow my service manuals). It is much smoother to shift gears now, and there is no more slippage or stutter. My amazement is that there has also been an overall improvement in acceleration. As of now, I believe that this fluid needs to be changed more frequently than Nissan recommends, and that their recommendation might simply be to not scare away potential My fluid will need to be changed as frequently as every 30k from now on, and I will be cursing Nissan every time I have to pay the outrageous price for this item.

If you're thinking about replacing your transmission, give this a shot
5/5

The book is great. I'm so glad I bought it. This summer, my wife's Nissan Rogue lost all power on the highway in the middle of a long road trip. The warning light never came on, the engine light never went on, nothing at all. No indication of an issue was given to us. This is a fail safe mode for CVT transmissions, I had found out by doing some research. Overheating of the transmission will prevent it from damaging anything, so it falls back on this mode. The owner of a local auto mechanic shop scanned the codes on the vehicle and the code he received gave him the confidence that the transmission needed to be replaced completely. It took me a while to drain the old fluid from the transmission and fill it with the correct amount of the new fluid, as instructed by I have been using it for years now without any problems. I won't have a hiccup no matter how many road trips I take. I found an $8o worth of transmission fluid to be much cheaper than having to buy a new one. When you are experiencing similar issues, you should try this first. It's easy to change this fluid if you know how to change motor oil. Since there is no alternative way to fill the transmission fluid other than through the dip tube, you will need a very long and skinny funnel to fill the dip tube with this fluid.

There are 4 quarts in a Nissan Rogue 2012
5/5

While I ignore the outrageous costs of this stuff, I've noticed that the CVT transmission on my 2012 Nissan Rogue has a well-deserved reputation for early failure. Considering this, the best thing you can do is ensure that you use OEM Nissan fluid as much as possible. However, I chose to do a straightforward drain and refill this time. I pulled the plug and got exactly 4 quarts of water The fluid level increased to double the level at the hash mark area of the dipstick when I added 4 quarts back in. Having last checked the fluid level at my local Nissan dealer a few months ago, I decided not to add more and left it at that level. Lastly, the Nissan drain plug uses a copper crush washer that must also be replaced if it is used once. If you want to change your car, get one before you cheap out.

The fluid change fixed the issues that plagued people who drove long distances in hot weather
5/5

In the months since I bought my (used) 2011 Nissan Rogue, the transmission has been acting up. If I were to drive in the heat over an hour (it's always hot in Florida) and the vehicle would not exceed 2500 rpm and would not excellerate - I would have to stop. As my speed was that low, I had to floor it to keep the car going, and I couldn't improve it unless I pulled over for a few minutes for the engine to cool. Transmissions were checked by different mechanics, and all agreed that there was nothing wrong with them. Somebody eventually said the transmission fluid needed to be changed. This has enabled me (so far) to keep my house cool, and the only other option I had been given required This is a great first step to try if you're experiencing similar problems. My guess is that the previous owner changed the transmission fluid with the wrong type, which could explain why my transmission is acting up.

You should use this brand instead of others in There is nothing else you can use on Nissan's CVT transmission if you have a Rogue or some other model
4/5

I would like to point out a couple of things. Here are the figures 1) I did an AWD transmission in a 2008 Rogue SL. While I was able to drain only approximately 5 quarts out of this model, it has a total capacity of just over 9 quarts. Even though there are ways to get all the fluid out, I am not skilled enough to do so. As soon as the drain bolt was undone, the transmission fluid dipstick was removed, and it was drained for about an The reason I ordered 10 quarts was that I did not know roughly how much drain out would happen and I did not want to be in a position where I could not drive the vehicle until I purchased 1) The 2008 (and I believe 2009) Nissan Rogues had their transmission warranties increased because of some sort of design issue. It's 120,000 miles for the warranty on your transmission, in case you weren't aware. It is important to mention this since if you use something OTHER then this transmission fluid to flush your transmission, you void the additional Be sure to keep your receipts if you do the work yourself. You may need them if Nissan asks In the event that you have past 120,000 miles, any fluid will do since there is no warranty left. 2) Some people re-recommend me I have heard from others Many people use washers on their oil pans and transmission pans, but I do not recommend doing so. You can buy an online crush ring just by clicking here You'll only spend a couple bucks on them. Although it is true your old washer could work fine, I would feel much more secure knowing there is a new ring (or washer) in place. Make sure you torque the screw to the specified torque.
