We recommend changing the fluid if at all possible because this product can mix with conventional mineral oils just fine. However, to take advantage of the full benefits of the synthetic blend base stock, such as extended drain intervals and increased high temperature load carrying capacity, we recommend changing the fluid.

With 517 hours on the tractor, it is in good condition. A hydraulic fluid change has never been made in the past. I put it in the bucket right after I got it (took 10 gal. There was a horrible odor to the old fluid, which looked like chocolate milk. Filter was installed and the internal metal and sediment filter was cleaned. This Duragard Synthetic Blend fluid seemed to be very well tolerated by my tractor after it was refilled. After updating the fluid, I bled the system to get out the air, but before doing so, I decided to try it out. I will probably bleed later, but for now this fluid seems perfect. Everything seems to be responding better, especially in the transmission and hydraulics. This fluid is highly recommended. The product has the batch number and D on the label. I assume "date of manufacture" is meant by "date". Apparently, they wait until you order before they make your blend. Mine came with a new date so I guess they make it when you order. I had one with a fresh oil smell and the color of dark wine. The bucket had an easy to use pull-out plastic spout and a pocket for a plastic tab. An air tab is placed in the pouring tab to facilitate.

It was smoother and quieter. A recent update. Kubota brand fluid costs half as much. At 200 and 400 hours, I did a complete fluid and filter change on a 2015 BX25D, with no issues at 450 hours. When the hydraulics are cold, they can be choppy, but with a few minutes in the sun they will run smoothly. My first observation is that it is a little foamy after it has Located on the side of the bucket, there is a nice pop-up pour spout, perfect for hitting your funnel as you refill. As long as I don't see a lot of negative reviews, I am probably going to continue using the service. We performed another filter and fluid change at 620 hours, the fluid smelt okay, but the filter and fluid were dirty. Having fired it up again after the change, it was smooth and quiet as silk. Maintenance will no doubt prolong the useful life of this little machine. Fluid so far has delivered the same results at a fraction of the cost.

The power is quieter and stronger

Hydro transmissions are quieter than Kubota Super UDT fluid and run at a top speed of about 5 mph faster than using it in Kubota RTV engines.
