Mazda's manual says to service the car every 2 years/30 thousand miles for "severe" service intervals. I do not mean it in any way! I put about $63 worth of purple goo into this, but it didn't work. The whine started as soon as the engine was started. As I was shopping for rebuild kits, I saw these and I decided to take a chance. It's amazing what a difference there is! As a result, I no longer grind into 4th as I would have in the past, and even the transmission now doesn't whine. The next time I'm building I wouldn't have to drop a tranny and to waste a little less on the Royal Purple (Royal Poop) If that's more your style). Here is where you should go to get gear oil.
