I believe this is a counterfeit product because I've been using Quicksilver for years and have always worn a black cap. This one had a white cap on it when I got it. There was a lot of residue at the bottom of the bottle when I strained the gear oil from this white cap imposter. The genuine Quicksilver product is of higher quality and does not leave behind any residue. I'm not going to trust Amazon with this again; they need to look into their supply chain. br>If you're listening, Amazon, I still have this product and am in contact with the manufacturer. I was dissatisfied, and I'm sure they will be as well.
I was in a hurry and was surprised to find it for $5 less per quart at Wally World. Wow, I will not make that mistake again!.
READ! THE OIL, QUICKSILVER SAYS, IS SUPPOSED TO HELP SAVE YOUR GEARBOX IN THE EVENT OF WATER PENETRATION. I WENT TO CHANGE MY OIL AT THE END OF A SEASON AND FOUND IT WAS FULL OF WATER (WHICH TURNED OUT TO BE PROP SEALS). MY LOWER UNIT HAS NOT BEEN AFFECTED! THIS PRODUCT IS BACKED BY ME!.
It takes a little more than one bottle to complete this task. The generic pump is compatible with the bottle. To avoid problems, change the lower unit on your Mercruiser once a year. It's preferable to replace bearings every year with a couple of bottles. seals. I've been there and done it!.
lower units with higher performance It's never given me any problems, and it always appears to be of high quality. quality. br>br>My only gripe is that it costs significantly more on Amazon than it does in-store. store, but I'm not going to dock a star because the oil is so good! br>br>Highly recommended for Mercury lower units, particularly those in high-altitude environments. applications that perform well.
I use this oil in my Mercruiser outdrive and a Mercury 25hp outboard, and it always works. I'd give it five stars if it weren't for the price, which I believe is too high. (90 w Valvoline is less than 1/2 the price. ) Because I'm not sure if there's a difference in the products, I buy and use Quicksilver oil.
There's a small leak in the crankcase of my car. The lube from the other brand foamed up badly, leaving metallic particles on the dipstick magnet. Foam with a brown color. When I switched to Merc gear oil, it didn't foam or leave small metal particles on the dipstick magnet. The color of the dark blue oil stayed the same. Lubricant of exceptional quality. I would strongly suggest it.
For a Volvo Penta SX Cobra sterndrive, I ordered three quarts. 60 ratio. br>The bottles were all security sealed, which was fortunate because two of the lids were missing. The box and its contents are in perfect condition. (Other items in box came from a different Amazon order)br>All that's left now is to change the gear oil. br>An update is on the way. Especially if some of the assumptions are incorrect. So far, I'm giving it a five-star rating.
