There is probably less to do with 410a compatibility and more to do with what the compressor needs and what your system will accept. In the event that any remnant of the old oil remains and it isn't of the same type/viscosity as the new oil, a foaming oil scenario will occur, and the bearings/friction surfaces will prematurely wear.
