Fiebing's Golden Mink Oil Paste is what I use to waterproof leather boots. I bought it on Amazon back in 2014 and I still have As with any other treatment, it isn't a spray and walk away type of solution, but it does the job perfectly. The spray-on method is fine if you want it Water-resistant Silicone is an Atsko solution My only choice is Mink Oil. While Guard might work for you, I prefer One episode of the TV show Port Protection shows Alaskans making Mink Oil from, you guessed it, minks! The seams of marine canvas and tents get treated with Sno-Seal to prevent water from leaking through the stitching, and the tents get treated with Atsko Silicon spray to keep them waterproof. In its natural state, marine canvas is pretty waterproof, but even expensive nylon tents need sealing and spraying if they're not going to Keep your feet dry and stay safe, as a wise man once told me. As soon as it was applied, the hinges stopped squeaking. We used it to replace the windows, and now the windows open easily and without the screeching noise they used to have. The biggest difference was with the sliding door, which now feels lighter and opens and closes more easily than it did before. you spray it, so it's easy for you to see where you've applied it. It also dries quickly when it is applied. Due to the liquid nature of the product, it is easy to apply in hard-to-reach places. Basically, what I hate is that the application is too chaotic. As part of it, you are supplied with a thin straw that snaps into place, but halfway through the process the product would spit out of the straw, spraying all over rather than coming out in a steady drip. I would spray it onto the floor and it would drip onto the floor after spraying it. There was no clog in the straw and I inserted it correctly, so I'm not sure what the issue was, but it made a big With or without the straw, it sprays fine, but once it is done spraying, it will continue to foam and run down the side of the can for a few minutes, wasting half of the product. I purchased two cans separately and both were the same. It's not my first time using this type of product, and I've used these before without experiencing any problems. However, the product makes a mess so be prepared to clean it up. Do not let the can rest on any surface that could be damaged as the product hardens.
My car windows, I haven't noticed any difference but I am hoping that it is also moisturizing them.
As soon as we moved into our new home, we discovered several of the sliding vinyl windows were difficult to operate. They stuck on certain points, so you either had to push them really hard to make them move, or you had to push them in particular places to make them move. Although a window installer offered graphite, I decided not to use it since the window frames are white, so having black powder over the tracks wouldn't look good. The research I did revealed to me that vinyl window companies actually recommend silicone spray for this purpose. We used this product for our vinyl windows and it worked wonders. The bottom tracks become more shiny with this item, which is easy to apply. It was immediately evident that the windows worked better, and after a few "back and forths" at the window tracks, the windows might be operated with just I found this to be extremely impressive. There was no greasy build up, no oily residue. Even days later, the phone is still working as it should.
Having searched for a perfect silicone for over a month, I finally found the right one for my ironmaster Smith machine. In the past three months, I have spent about fifty dollars searching for that perfect We bought everything from liquid wrenches to blasters, to garages, to WD40 (all silicone). It does not work how I want it to, and it is very bad for the bushings on my Smith machine. Also looked at Walmart, Lowe's, and Home Depot, and they all carry the same crap. All of them have the same penatrating thin viscosity and work like regular WD40. As a result, it basically beads off and runs like a mofo when it is Then why doesn't there appear to be During our consultation, Ironmaster told me that any silicone would work and only silicone should You are full of bs, you idiot! There are many silicone sprays that are harmful to plastics and a lot of them are used on the im2000 bushings. It would be nice if they actually tried what I did. Then there is also the problem of finding silicone lubricant with a high silicone content. I was using a brand called Foster silicone before, which was perfect for my Smith machine. But I have not been able to locate the brand for some reason and have yet to find it A Smith was even used to test the rails. Those so-called silicone sprays I bought for the other rail stutter going up and down, but the rail left with Fosters silicone glide runs smoother than butter. It was Gumming up, I can tell. This bushing is in terrible shape. Also, I felt heat coming off of that rail, so there was a lot of friction. Next, let's have a look at Permatex. I used this stuff just like Foster spray, so it sprayed on with a little foam action very well. It has a higher silicone base than the other products I have used, so I know it has a higher silicone base. Since it dries so fast, I'd say this is technically silicone, but it is more of a dry silicone. You will see a white film, but don't worry, the film will disappear within seconds. As a result, there are virtually no lingering orders. As smooth as a marble rolling on glass, both rails of my Smith machine run. I'm absolutely blown away by this stuff! As well as using this for other applications, I am sure I will also use it. The silicone sprays I mentioned have very little silicone base so if you get them you might as well get the cheap, smelly WD40. The only downside is that I wish it could be found at my local stores more easily.
Using this spray lube on locks and other places where I wanted to move moisture or not attract dirt when lubricating things like locks and window cranks was fine. The bottle has only been used to the extent of 20% of its capacity, and the gas pressure is very low. Before I run out of gas, I won't be able to use even half of the can. Can has never been used upside down and it has been saved in an environment controlled by the climate. It is a can I have had for a little over two months and will not be buying.
My friends and I were both amazed at how easy it was to apply this lubricant, even if we are not very good at home maintenance. Buying this product enabled me to lubricate a squeaky sliding closet door that was waking up our 3 month old amidst my husband's attempts to put on clothes for work in the morning. After just one application, not only is the door easier to open, baby is also sleeping until 7 a. m. It's hard to choose between excitement and lube, but I credit both to this lube. Now I want to put it on everything in my house.
A similar can that had a spray nozzle that fouled and stopped working after 3/4 of a fill was replaced with this one. Other than that, the product is a good value for the money. My plan is to finish the previous can with the spray nozzle on the new.
