Questions & Answers

What thickness does this paste have to be to do bearings and such and stay in place, say at the top of a cam bearing where oil would ?

Hello, it has been quite a while since I used this product. The engine I rebuilt last week is not one I rebuild every week! But I believe there is not much paste added to it, it's just enough stick to stay in place. As a matter of fact, it can be added in a crankcase, just as motor oil is. Please accept this as a sincere request for assistance. Thank you.

Do you think this is suitable for installation of a new camshaft?

I did a new set of cams in my son's 2000 TC 88 this winter, and it works great.

Can this be used on solid lifter engines older than 20 years? Doesn't zddp have a vital role to play in ?

In order to power my tractor, I just rebuilt a Ford 172cid engine. When assembling, all bearing surfaces were sealed with Red Line 80319 in order to prevent slag. It was a very positive experience for me personally, since I checked my tolerance allowances and torque values throughout the entire process to make sure everything was clean. I should mention that this model engine is equipped with solid lifters. I think you won't go wrong with this assembly lube on your project. Be sure to give all your moving parts a good, evenly distributed coating of lube at assembly to help prevent metal-to-metal contact during Congratulations, Charlie, on your new job!

Would this work for the rebuild of an early Honda CT 70 engine?

I believe so. This will work on any rebuild of an engine.

Definitely one of the best thinner lubes! I really like this stuff for assembly lubes
5/5

it was so thin, u can use it in the same way that they used to use it for the rod and main Whenever I need valve train parts or timing chains, I use this product. While it is a little pinker than the other thicker stuff, it is just as slick and stays put still unless you apply a lot of it. But, still leaves a nice, slick film that will last awhile, which is way better than just I have never been let down by any of the Redline products I've used so.

It performed well in my Subaru EJ253
5/5

I used it when I reassembled the engine. The engine started right up and ran for 1500 miles before I noted any weird sounds. It had a good oil pressure and lasted the distance. The chemical was absorbed into the oil without leaving any residue. During the first oil change, I cut the filter open and did not find anything suspicious.

Is an effective tool for its purpose
5/5

This product does its job well at a reasonable price. I generally use Redline products because they are always well packaged and of good Assemblies are easier to assemble when using this lubricant.

There is a lot of blood in it
3/5

The permatex lube is better suited for the job, even though it was adequate. Because of the runny consistency, I forgot to wipe it out a few times and it got all over the place. At the end of the day, it gets the job done. For new starts ups, however, I prefer something thicker because it adds an additional layer of.

Keeping the engine lubricated is important
5/5

Previously, a 2 was used to indicate a date. Bringing the 4L EcoTec back to life - I was able to start without any problems. I thought it did what it was supposed to do- We are very happy with the way the car runs. Whenever I lubricate cams, bearings, and crankshafts, I use assembly lube. Don't start your computer on a dry surface. I am using this brand for the first time - pretty sticky As expected, this product adhered well. I found it to be of good quality.

For years I've been using this assembly lube, and so far I haven't found a better product

When the parts are protected from the very beginning, you would have no idea what this lube has done.

Does the trick! When assembling things that require some kind of lubricant, this is the best product
5/5

You only need a drop or two to do the job, so it will last for a long time. This is the product I use on metal parts and o rings.
